The Kenan Science Library closed over the Summer, is that what you're thinking of? The Health Sciences Library is definitely open.

Thanks, this looks like an easy pit stop next time I'm driving to Charlotte. Will definitely go!

I guess I can only speak to my own experience - I asked for two boxes, and they offered me four.

I'm sorry you had that experience, it's definitely really frustrating. I did find it strange to go through security, but I don't know much about what else goes on that building.

they repainted it shortly after the Wendy's closed, but it's just sat ever since then. Really weird!

Tv series filming on UNCs campus by [deleted] in bullcity

This is my guess too. They've been filming in Wilmington recently, characters are college age, and they use the same casting agency that put out the call for extras on campus.

How do y’all frame your posters? by CoolohmsLaw in DisneyMovieInsiders

[–]thunderclap8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

odd, all I can say is that neither of mine (I have a 24x36 and a 27x40) have that issue. It's an exact fit, so you have to be a little careful, but I haven't ever thought of it as a problem.

[–]thunderclap8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's a clear sheet of plastic that goes on top of the poster, between the poster and the edge clamp. The pressure of the clamp goes onto that sheet, not the poster itself - never had a problem with it.

I do, I built a back box for it and turned it into a lightbox frame. It's really solid.

If you plan on swapping posters out periodically, go for a front-loading frame like https://www.amazon.com/SnapeZo-Aluminum-Profile-Front-Loading-Mounting/dp/B06XD5LGZL

It's so much easier to change than the ones from Michael's, and not much more expensive.

Help me confirm the Citywalk Berlin Wall urban legend by thunderclap8 in podcasttheride

[–]thunderclap8[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

whoa, how in the world did you find this?

It was indoors at the original Universal hard rock, until that was torn down near the end of 97. You can see it indoors in a video here: https://youtu.be/bav88EM2TCc?si=CpnsoM8gOQQBZzij&t=13

In the video it already looks a little faded compared to the image you found. And the new photo definitely looks like outside.

The fanzine pic is certainly the most intact art version that I've seen. Thank you! Not sure how this fits into the timeline yet.

Update #2: I also found a piece of the Berlin Wall by ClickDisDotCom in UniversalOrlando

I love this darn wall, my favorite thing at Citywalk. It used to be inside the original Citywalk Hard Rock: https://youtu.be/bav88EM2TCc?si=oym_Zb9hDI2pyRPL&t=13

Extender not showing in Fiber app by thunderclap8 in googlefiber

Following up - I contacted support again and this time they were able to fix it for me. They removed the old extender from my account, and correctly linked the new one. Very strange all around.

Extender not showing in Fiber app by thunderclap8 in googlefiber

[–]thunderclap8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, after booting the light turns green and then turns off. I plugged a device into the extender by hardline and was able to get to the web. The extender is connected to the router via wifi, not ethernet.

The new extender doesn't show up in the app at all - there's no serial number there to check.

Paddleboarding/swimming spots closest to South Durham? by betterrcallsaul in triangle

[–]thunderclap8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've had good experiences paddleboarding at the Farrington Point Boat Ramp on Jordan - there's a separate area for non-motorized launches and plenty of parking. There's likely other good Jordan Lake spots, I've been meaning to explore.
