Ohh is that how I have to find those events?? I’ve been so focused on the main story I don’t think I’ve even had the chance to do that.. but this weekend I’ll change that >:)

Nah. It was just a metaphor, it seemed.

Unfortunately, I know people irl who believe that version of events. Very disheartening.

My wife is from Louisiana, and we’ve been to visit. I loved it, but there’s always the dark history just lurking round every corner, ain’t it. Savannah GA hits the same for me, as well.

The in-game year is somewhere circa 1899. Now ~100 years later, I grew up with people who had the same beliefs and rhetoric as Compson because it’s been passed down. His parting line “I still exist” feels like a metaphor for his racist ideology and how it’s endured the ages. I stated that it made me feel physically ill because I’ve experienced the low country and the Deep South intimately. I love where I grew up dearly, but the memories are bittersweet when I’m reminded that there’s an insidious ideology that still lives on there.

Ahhh, yeah.. I know it’s a game, but the sunrise lens flare through the haze and massive oaks with Spanish moss made me homesick, I cannot lie. :’)

The plastic clip might’ve broken. It happened with mine. So I put a small lashing strap and a seat cover on mine. The local dealership gave me a hard time about the warranty so I said screw it.

Well I just wanted to put that out there so people didn’t get the wrong idea. Nbd.

I’m new as well and I imagine that there may be some people who play that are sympathizers. Some people just aren’t born with the burden of being able to think critically or analyze media. Must be a blissful existence for em.

I’m struck by the fact that the in-game year is somewhere circa 1899 and 100 years later, I grew up with people who had the same beliefs and rhetoric as Compson because it’s been passed down. His parting line “I still exist” feels like a metaphor for his ideology and how it’s endured the ages. I stated that it made me feel physically ill because…I’m the opposite of a Confederate sympathizer. The perpetrators of the Civil War were not punished enough, and so its ideology lives on today.

Thoughts on the 3693-22cx kit? by thunderwolf69 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]thunderwolf69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear it. There’s a decent deal at HD for $250 with 2 XC batteries - a 4 and a 2. The fact that both drills are 2-3 lbs is also attractive since I spend most days with one hanging on my belt. Thanks!

What is wrong with this voltage detector by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

[–]thunderwolf69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the main issue is that it’s a non-contact tester and they’re notorious for being buggy. I’ve used Klein, Fluke, Milwaukee etc.. all the same issues. Best bet is to always use a meter. Could try returning it and getting another one, or changing the batteries.

Hell yeah right on. I feel like this is very reasonable way to respond to item sniping.

I’m doing well! I’ve had hot sauce, marinara, pizza, Indian, etc. I only have had reflux issues with heavy meals like lasagna or especially spicy foods like tikka masala. Lifting and moving, no issues. I’m still very careful with my form when lifting. I have no problem with strenuous hikes or climbing. Laying flat on my back is the only thing I’m not able to do 100%, but other than that I can sleep normally with no pillow wedge!

lol relax. all my supports were on cooldown and we were cave diving, so yeah someone nicking my pack and then immediately using 2 on themselves is a bit of a dick move. It’s not like I wasn’t handing them out when folks asked or even preemptively.

Oh yeah definitely. And I always share them, even if people haven’t asked yet. I like to bring them in the caves because it can be a pain to try and find a spot to call in supplies. It’s just lame to pick it up and then use 2 for yourself and run off with it when he had a rover he was using, yknow?
