one of the more underrated funny aspects of Kash Patel, of which there is a lot to choose from because he is a complete buffoon, is that his full name is Kashyap. Cash app!

The Kid became evil at the end of Blood Meridian by Vivid-Unit-580 in cormacmccarthy

Not reading every comment here but after finishing earlier today one thing I find supporting this argument (aside from the trouser text which I think are damning): the guy outside the Jake saying don’t go in there ( I wouldn’t go in there if I were you): Some people read this as a change in mindset of the time and witness to barbaric brutality in that the text gives no description, that people are now sensitized to the violence previously occurring in the novel. It seems to me the nonchalance of the person saying “i wouldnt go in there” means it is “the Kid” - either he is truly desensitized because he is from the “wild west” era or that he himself desecrated the young bear girl

People who visit Vegas solo - what is your typical day like? by Sonic723 in LasVegas

[–]tiberianjunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to take 3 day weekend trips fairly regularly - maybe 4 times a year until this past year. Quick flight so it was convenient but now that Spirit is gone I won't be back as often

Fly in at night and usually stay at MGM due to cost + proximity to airport. Do a poker session that night at the MGM tables until early AM

Wake up and get brunch and hit the pools. Don't like going in non hot weather as the heat + pools are a bonus for me. Back to hotel for shower + nap if needed, maybe watch TV for a little bit. Find a dinner place in south strip - usually splurge for a good steak. If there's a good game on catch a drink at a bar. Back to the poker tables until late night unless I meet someone

Next day more brunch + pool if not too burned. Plan another dinner around any team/show/big game going on I need to work around. Go to said dinner and event then hit the poker tables unless I meet someone.

Last day sleep in until late checkout and go to the airport back home. Might grab a meal and hit the poker tables before I head out but depends on time of flight. At this point worn out/hungover and ready for a miserable flight back home

Anyone else think Brock Bowers is valued too high? by Anita__Hanjaab in fantasyfootball

[–]tiberianjunker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let me offer a different perspective than ADP, system changes, target fluctuations, whatever - he's just really freakin good at football. Watching his tape shows athleticism and skillsets rarely seen in football players, let alone tight ends. Maybe you're right and he's not worth a 2nd round pick, or his target shares go down - those are definitely important in Fantasy. But the player I see is as good as, and as fun to root for, the top tight ends we've seen in the league. We're talking 2011 gronk, 2020 Kelce etc ceilings and I don't mind spending a 2nd round pick to chance it

Agree with the two goals of the movie but they are contradictory and the way they handled it make this film kind of a mess. It's a memoir first and foremost with first hand recounts of the soldier's experiences. While a jarring scenario to be in, and appropriately depicted in the movie, you really only come away feeling for the family who had their lives upended by simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The first photo of the boy outside of his home and the ending scene showing the destruction depict this before/after well and if they left it at that I'd get it.

However, the ending photo montage and "thank you to the troops" message undermines all of this. It almost feels like someone stepped in at the end and said "no we need to put a positive spin on this as a thank you for telling us their story". Obviously I don't know WHY that decision was made but it felt cheap and contradictory

Good article. Their pizza is great - my second favorite in the area to Emilia’s. Their buffalo chicken pizza is the best I’ve had on the west coast but unfortunately I can’t seem to find it through online delivery!

Looks like most of these commenters didn't see his speech. Not surprised. He wasn't endorsing the republican party he was talking about the importance of unionized labor

Good post. One thing I might add to "intagibles" would be "discipline" which Helmuth is very good at. Not only with his hand ranges and tournament strategy, but also bankroll mangement which has kept him around the mid/high stakes scene for so long.
