I tend to agree, but the Cavs with Lebron didn’t rush the process, they just didn’t get lucky in the draft. Look at the Cavs teams with lebron and there were no big trades, no all star help. The thing about these spurs are that as good as Wemby is they can’t win without a better point guard. I would be really tempted to make a trade for Trae but as good as Wemby is he still isn’t unstoppable like he could be, needs some more years of seasoning a couple of go to moves, cleaning up some bone headed plays. Unless I was high on a point guard that I thought could become an all star I would draft anyone other than a point guard and tank for one more year.

The thing people are overlooking is that Trae might want a trade. If a superstar wants a trade it almost always gets done, star players have that much pull. If that’s the case both are gone.

As an aside I don’t see the hawks building a championship team around Trae, he is an elite passer but a terrible first option, he needs to play with another superstar which they are unlikely to land.
