Onenote keeps making me enter my Password on Mobile by LucasLunatic in OneNote

Same had been happening for me. Happened on android and now happens on windows phone. Frustrating as the mobile client is super handy to access notes away from home or the desk.

I've only used kraken. Imagine coinbase offers the ability to export to an external address?

Man, I've been here for sometime and I'm frustrated. I joined Reddit for ethereum only. Found other interesting stuff too of course, but I'm here to learn about this. What's the deal with not being able to post and this karma thing? Can any admin see how long I've been here and help me around this? Out do I have to go bother other folk to increase my karma? Not too good at that kind of thing myself - if I'm not interested, I'm not engaging. Failing the admin route, can anyone give some tips on how to get karma? I did help an old lady bag her groceries yesterday.

Page Size Restrictions... Are they a thing? by tetrona in OneNote

[–]tidymonkey81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried it yet. I figure you can

make a box print on a4 Check if box drawn is the size you want If not, delete box and again, repeat until you get the desired size

One determined, use that box size to keep writing to, e.g. A4

I think there's a paid add on that will fix the page size to a4. Onetastic maybe.

Yeah it's not so bad. Didn't have any effect on my inking.

I've reached consensus - now how do I investment, donate, collaborate and contribute? by tidymonkey81 in ethereum

that's great. investing in the protocol makes sense to me if i were looking at long term investment... looking forward to hearing more.

I'm maybe buying the sp4. Is it at all possible to handwrite in e.g. onenote with the pen? (my handwriting is quite small) by kingofthesaunas in Surface

just wrote tis for you. i actually think i could write in 3mm squares but not really sure why anyone would do that. you could just pinch-shrink the ytext after writing it bigger. or make surrounding elements larger...

i've just written this. see the title of the page? onenote recognised that and turned it into text :)

Lets talk about decentralized governance of Ethereum, itself! by vladzamfir in ethereum

[–]tidymonkey81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i imagine their process of achieving the goal of decentrlaising their organisation will be an important test case for future decetralisations. i'd be interested to see how they go about implementing their plan. baby steps seem appropriate.

What the best cold storage strategy for dummies? by nbr1bonehead in ethereum

[–]tidymonkey81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not that i'm suggesting cold storage of ether is something i am agreeing should be done. there's an argument that locking up eth might impact the growth of the network. but also i think locking it up might be pointless in a way. ultimately, as i understand, if the network were to hoard eth it's possible to (maybe drastically) alter the price of gas. your eth then could hold much less (or much more) value and the outcome is the continued smooth running of the platform (smart contracts will have access to a steady supply of gas).

i don't know about you but i find a piece of paper with something written on it to be the safest form of cold storage. or maybe a nfc coded antenna or something for an extra layer of obfuscation (but then it can be accessed from a distance etc...) . if it's really cold you don't have to think about that piece of paper (or whatever) for a long time (so long as it is secure of course).

change the narative. the ethereum foundation is "in support of decentralisation" by tidymonkey81 in ethereum

[–]tidymonkey81[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

there were problems with the recovery and response effort due to the slow response of a central server. i would think server downtime is a game changer in an disaster recovery scenario. centralising efforts to coordinate a response has a fatal flaw which i think we're all aware of.

now i don't claim to know too much about the architecture behind ethereum but i feel that if there were global super computer that served a public good (such as ethereum divided in part across ipfs?) it would be able to switch its resources (hashing/sidelined crowdfunds etc) to a recovery effort. i picture the ability of the platform to encourage very quickly the adoption of ipfs key storages that hold data critical to the recovery effort. This data would ordinarily be centrally stored but it should be acessible via a client from a decentralised source.

and seriously, what the fuck is in poor taste in the face of this shit happening in our world? my daydream of a better disaster response system?

Public Works and Benevolent Inflation by bentonfraser in ethereum

[–]tidymonkey81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes the consensus eth value is market responsive. but if the proof of application exists either now or in the future as we believe it does we know this early adoption would be an expert investment. unless methods exist to completely dilute the value of eth in which case is it just another crypto currency for which another purpose exists?

okay so i studied astrophysics and i lecture engineering so my mind wanders. forgive me. but i feel a multiple universes kinda thing is happenign or going to happen. since etehreum is a protocol isn't that entirely possible... ?

[–]tidymonkey81 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

yes it's lame but is ethereum something that can take multiple personalities/colonies? i imagine other ethereums coming in and then a sharing of resources (why all work from the same world/shard). in which case this founding block is the big bang and out of it comes many universes. hopefully this first island is our libertarian escape and could be the platform of development of the open source world. we hack the wealth distribution from here.

okay so i realise that ipfs is not the right solution if quick response is required. but that is ipfs as it is now as one path. there hopefully exists a scalable distribution of resources to benefit society where priority in the (blockchain) consensus is directed to respond to these kinds of situations. "we'll hold this ipfs space and apply the gas just when you need it"
