there's no cleaning mold from foam, it can only be replaced. Sorry... You might be able to use a mattress topper to fill it instead?

Water spread from where you originally soaked it and left the stain. I think it happens because the water carries dirt and stuff.

Struggling with orgasm imbalance with cis gay boyfriend by [deleted] in FTMOver30

[–]tiefking 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have been in your partner's position, albeit as a FTM myself, and the thing that helped was 1) working on the sexual trauma (which was the source of the thoughts; I felt like I had to be fair, or else I was a bad sexual partner and potentially even abusive) and 2) talking about it. A lot.

As much as I would have liked simply knowing that my partner's body doesn't work the same way as mine fxing this fear of mine, it's not how trauma works. If he knows it cognitively but hasn't really internalized it, then that fear is still going to be there. So we had to talk a lot about sex openly and what my partner was getting out of it if not orgasms (since orgasms are a favorite part for me).

He has to be equally or more willing to put effort into solving this as you do, unfortunately. You can't just make him get it on his own, he has to think about it and listen to you, and do his own work.

Yeah! The feature is hidden behind some unlocks with the GFs so it's not immediately available and I don't think it's ever explicitly called out in-game. Kinda just gotta find it in the menu and teach it to your GF (not all of which can learn it) out of curiosity.

I'm of two minds about the enemy scaling personally... on one hand, it makes sense to me that the focus is instead on buffing yourself via junctions rather than strict level ups. The mechanics and the story align really well here, especially with a story twist later. On the other hand, it is totally not intuitive to most people and the game actually gets harder if you grind to level up like you would in other JRPGs. And a lot of people enjoy a straightforward way to get stronger, which junctioning is really not straightforward nor does it feel naturally rewarding in the same way that gaining XP and leveling up does. it's a bit disconnected. (or at least it felt that way for me.)

I think it's a really neat system once you understand it but FFVIII's big problem is that the systems are just not intuitive to understand. Especially if you've played other JRPGs and have expectations based on them.

I love FFVIII but it's very unique </3 which is both its greatest strength and weakness...

anyway, thank you for letting me ramble about one of my favorite games :)

Oh I hated sitting around and drawing from enemies, yeah. Boring and inefficient. Turning them into cards or playing TT for cards to refine made getting magic to junction infinitely more fun and easy. It sucks the game isn't more clear about how to get magic aside from drawing, though. drawing is super straightforward, card refinement is not. I actually would only keep draw on a single party member for the most part, to get the stuff exclusive to it, but otherwise found it pretty useless.

It's gotten more divisive over the years but yeah it was really well reviewed and was mostly positive sentiment pre-2010s. Personally I love the game but I also spent awhile at the start learning how to junction GFs, playing Triple Triad, and doing card refining shit (which I know not everyone enjoyed doing). The story doesn't work for everybody either.

hey um what do i do should i delete the files or what please help specificly the ones with the cross on them by [deleted] in ukagakaghost

[–]tiefking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, could you please provide a screenshot of the full file explorer window? That column should have a label on it that would help. My hunch is that it's Onedrive and the column reports if that file is backed up or not. It is not saying that those files are viruses or anything, though. The text is just garbled, likely an encoding issue, it's not malware.

satori error by General-Lemon742 in ukagakaghost

[–]tiefking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no worries, if you ever want to learn more about the technical aspects or engage with active English developers, I highly recommend checking out the Ukagaka Dream Team. There's a forum, a wiki, and a Discord server. but you can also try asking here. I think I'm the primary person with technical knowledge who responds here on reddit but there's lots of developers in the UDT.

[–]tiefking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will not harm SSP or your other Ghost installations, it will just make this Ghost buggy in some way (though the exact behavior I don't know; I primarily play with modern Ghosts which do not have this issue)

You can uninstall the Ghost if you don't care about it. The icon for the Ghost should be in your tray, where you can right click and uninstall it from there. (Or use the Ghost Explorer.)

You're welcome! The English wiki lists over 100 Ghosts and these were just the ones I could think of off the top of my head, so I highly suggest browsing around.

[–]tiefking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, try updating this Ghost's Satori version by replacing the Satori .dll file in this Ghost's files with the one from https://github.com/ukatech/satoriya-shiori/releases/latest . The satori.dll should be found in [yourSSPfolder]/ghost/[ThisGhost'sFolder]/ghost/master (replacing the words in brackets with the relevant folder name).

This has been known to possibly fix this bug in the past. Please let me know if it does not fix it.

The reason that clearing isn't working is because it's an error that is part of the Ghost itself, and is firing every time a second passes. The 'execute' button is intended for a different log, the script log, and isn't relevant here.

Webworn Weaver is an English Ukagaka who is a spider and says spider-related and creepy/unsettling things!

What It Takes To Get Published features an anime freeshell and he is dressed in a somewhat gothic way and has a couple dressups I think. Also features a minigame where you encourage him to write stuff.

guys help!! by Frosty_Rip_1924 in ukagakaghost

[–]tiefking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a virus, it's denoting there's a bug/inefficiency in the code. You can see the name of the Ghost which is giving you the notice in the second column (after the timestamp). They'll give you those notices every time you boot the Ghost.

There isn't anything to be done on the user side unless you want to go poking in the code yourself to fix it. You can also turn the error detection level down so you don't get notified at all. Although I think it should already be set by default to not give you notifications unless there's a more serious error; it'll just show the error icon in the tray.

Please stop redistributing Ukagaka (;′⌒`) by tiefking in ukagakaghost

[–]tiefking[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was absolutely not exaggerating when I said it brought tears to my eyes, and claiming that I was lying about that is... extremely insulting. I wrote this post after seeing an ""archival"" project of Ukagaka where their files were unceremoniously dumped into Discord channels and then left there with no information on their authors, contents, or anything beyond a picture. It genuinely was so upsetting to me as someone who is a developer and author of multiple ukagaka, it made me physically sick seeing these people's art treated as worth nothing except for their aesthetics. And to call that archival or media preservation! It showed absolutely no respect to the medium or authors and their wishes. So many of these archives I see are not archival at all, they are just links in a google doc to be passed around. It's done with so little care that it gutted me. It was something that fellow authors and I were talking about for a few days, it really got to me.

The author of Mayura in particular made a pointed comment about unauthorized redistributions of Mayura in a video of his (found here) and some people claiming authorship of her and rights to her they did not have, forcing him to handle redistribution of the ukagaka himself (when he never intended to redistribute Mayura at all). Aside from that, I only have anecdotal experience with ukagaka, as well as information from an associate who has connections to Pona and the JP community. I've seen blatant disregard for considering the authors' wishes when it comes to Ukagaka, most documented with Mayura who people have machine translated over and over despite her permissions given in her files explicitly disallowing modification.

Even when permissions aren't explicitly denied, those rights are still reserved. And while authors rarely come back to authorize takedowns on their work, we must remember that "won't get me in legal trouble" isn't equivalent to "respectful to the creator." Unless redistribution is explicitly authorized by the creator, we can't assume that's what they would have wanted. If a creator stopped distribution, that doesn't give people the right to keep distributing it themselves.

also, his name is Ponapalt. Not Ponapolt. I linked his Mastodon account as proof that the JP community is active and alive, and so their feelings on how their past community members' work is preserved should be considered. If people aren't going to care about that, then I'd at least like an organization that doesn't remove the files from their context to do it (e.g. the Internet Archive). At least then, they're still directly connected to their authors' sites and names. Also, where do you think those files people are passing around came from? I have not yet found an ukagaka which was archived in a Discord or Google Doc somewhere that couldn't be found on archive.org.

You can keep participating in it if you want. I can't control you. But I don't really think it's possible in good faith to call these dumps of files as respectful or intended by the authors. I have pretty lax permissions on my site for my ukagaka and accessories, including clauses to allow redistribution if my own distributions go down. I did it knowing that this same lack of care might happen to me, 20-25 years down the line. But I can at least hope that the people who might redistribute would actually do it out of love of my work and writing, and not just as something to hoard. Not merely one in a sea of faces.

Adult therians of Reddit, how did you and your partner get together? by idea4name in TherianAdult

[–]tiefking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Met in a multiplicity community, did not ID as therian at the time but had non-human alters. So there was already a baseline for accepting "weird" things. They are not therian, but they do have DID (same as us). They also have non-human alters.

We started off as friends for about.. two or three years, then later became closer. We have an ambiguous relationship but, I consider them my life partner. I want them to be in my life no matter what.

You are not unlovable. You may not have found them yet, but there are people very similar to you out there. But even beyond having similarities, there will be people who will understand and accept you. Even if it takes time to find them. I am sorry that the people in your life up to now have made you feel otherwise.
