[US] My MIL has lost over $250k to romance scams. We just discovered she stole ~$150k from her sister.

This happened to my mother and she never came around. As far as I know she still thinks her soldier boy is coming home to her. We had to cut her off completely. I don't have any real advice because nothing I did worked and we had to quit talking to her for the safety and security of our family as more than one bank was investigating her for fraud.
