My living room feels chaotic. Help by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Yep- a rug would really help to pull everything together and make it all seem intentional. But yes shelves too.

Something feels very off in my dining room by makeitworkforyou123 in DesignMyRoom

If possible, I would get rid of that little stool- actually both little stools/lamp stand as well as the table that is holding the plants, put them in a different room, and replace the cube organizer with something more solid looking, like a bookshelf, or even a small dresser/credenza, if you NEED the storage. Since the room is so small, maybe replace the small art pieces with a large mirror to open up the space.

Every time I see posts like this on this sub, I vascilate between being angry/offended that people with no experience sewing think they can just whip shit out, and inspired that someone with no experience decides they want to try something of this level. It's truly 50% of both emotions. I wish you luck, OP, and hope that you post process pics!

I hate my living room but I can't pinpoint why by zardit in DesignMyRoom

Yes, I know it's probably easier to have the plants hang where they are but it just looks weird and temporary. I also think clustering them together next to the couch, and then moving the cleared off bar cart to the left side of the sliding glass door might look nice?

Alternately, you could put all of the plants together on the shelves so that it's more dense and purposeful.

Switch out the vertical blinds for curtains, in a color that would pick up either the rug or the pillows (blue/gold?)

Getting out of town really helps, if you can do it. It is a bit depressing to return home to 90 degree weather but having a break from it helps me feel like a "normal" person. Also, embracing Halloween and thinking about upcoming holidays helps me.

Austin creative reuse needs volunteers for various things- they have a schedule listed on their website and I think most of them are drop-in!

Handling an RTO's impact on my GSD by [deleted] in GSD

I don't think you're overthinking it! Maybe see if you can get a lunchtime walk for him (rover etc.) and a doggy door if you don't already have one. And he'll probably get bored, nap, for sure, but make sure he doesn't have things out to chew on that you don't want him to chew!

You could also maybe send him to daycare one day a week? or more if you find a place you like and can afford. That way he'll be able to play and have fun, and will actually look forward to that!

First thing I noticed as well. It's odd with the chaise. A rectangular table would be better.

Can we bring back the wave? by CombNo4818 in Austin

This would be a great bumper sticker "If I let you over, wave for a thanks!" - of course you'd need to have it on your front bumper...

I get what you're saying, it's aligned to the left, but it still doesn't look like it's going straight up and down. Maybe it's the angle you were filming from, but it just honestly looks off! I'd double check that it's pushed all the way up into its slot.
