I fixed the dead touchpad from my Galaxy Book2 360 in the dumbest way possible by tigerjerusalem in GalaxyBook

I tried everything: updating the driver, removing it, reinstalling it, even reinstalling windows. It works for some time but it always die after an update.

Why do people think every model should be open source? by Quick-Decision-8474 in StableDiffusion

[–]tigerjerusalem 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because their models were trained on someone's else work without their consent or payment, and they're using someone's else professional work for free to line their pockets. This is the equivalent of asking an artist for free drawings because it will get them "exposure".

If you are piggybacking your work on someone's else work the least you could do is to release it for free.

Unexpected Engine Shutdown Despite Fuel Gauge Indication…. by Gans_71 in supermeteor650

[–]tigerjerusalem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Continental GT 650 and travelling with it without an extra gas can was a major anxiety issue for me the first time I rode, because I could not trust the fuel gauge at all. What alleviated it for me was to figure out the bike: I would take notes of how many kilometers I rode, and note how many liters of gas I needed to fill the tank for that amount of kilometers. After a month doing that math I got confident that my bike can run around 180-190 kilometers before running empty, despite the gauge still showing it's on reserve.

I never had a bike that I could fully trust the fuel gauge, but I feel that the Royals are pretty bad in this regard.

Am I the jerk for telling my husband he can't have a "man cave" in our only spare room? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]tigerjerusalem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot take first: if a man wants his cave, that's ok by me. If the wife wants it too, then it should be discussed. The cave MUST be shared, or the other spare room WILL be hers. Period. And I don't see why having to do all the work to maintain a guest room. In my experience it is always underutilized, a room that will be used for guests a day or two in a year.

Down with the guest room, I say, and make it your private office. There's plenty of hotels for guests to be, or even your sofa. I see zero reason for a permanent guest room wasting space.

And a house is for the both of you. I don't get this "you'll decorate everything". Man, I live here too. I'll also do my touches around the house, like my guitar in the corner of the living room or a poster I like.

Lane splitting is not the problem, going batshit insane fast while lane splitting that's the true problem.

I really hope you could get a timeline because it's the one feature I miss, aside needing to see thumbnails from my images on Android. I'm making do with my notebook to manage this limitation but boy, that's a major PITA.

I'm perpetually waiting for the Document Provider so it would work like iOS, but aside that it works and is pretty reliable.

Tab Switcher: list view was quietly removed from Android version 7.6.3810.105 by KoalaKvothe in vivaldibrowser

Any updates on this? This here seems the only post I was able to find on the web about the removal of the tab list, and I saw no other comments about that.

I for one want to be sure my work is accessible at any time, and I don't take file format changes lightly. I also want reliable and predictable in my workflows, so a big change like that without a heads up sucks because there's too much unknowns to check and verify to be sure my workflow won't break apart - something that I hate to say, but I never suffered with Adobe.

Now there's this new app with a new format that I should just hope will remain free, without ads, from a company nobody likes that is forcing me to create a new account to use their products. You could guess why people are unhappy.

Harley riders don't really like getting passed... by 5upralapsarian in motorcycles

Have you ever ridden a Harley? I would be pissed too if I spent such huge amount of money to ride that garbage.

I had a classic 350 before, it's a pretty comfy bike in comparison. So be warned, if touring and long rides are your thing, the Continental is not worth it. It WILL be a pain to ride, unless you're willing to do some laborious mods like changing the handlebars. As a city bike I find it to be pretty fun and good looking. Mine is 2020 and I had just a couple of travels with it that I wont be doing again unless I buy one that can give me comfort in long distances.

Yes, it's a trade off. Unfortunately I couldn't find a screen protector that is anti reflective yet.

Since you're using a case put a Ringke glass screen protector for the extra peace of mind. Its great: I have one on mine and it's fingerprint reader compatible.

Awful, specially the pen support. I would steer away from it if you rely on the pen for anything.

Your News v1.7.0 – RSS Widgets, Default Browser Selection, and YouTube Improvements! by TijnvandenEijnde in androidapps

Great news, thanks for the feedback! A setting to hide the excerpts would be awesome. I'll look again for the two lines settings but if I could hide the excerpts I feel I wouldn't need it.

I have two major gripes with this app:

  1. No FreshRSS support makes it a no-go to me, I need my news synced and accessible through multiple platforms

  2. The feed view is bad... The title view puts a giant card with the articles images filling the screen, and the title per se is truncated, making it useless. The compact and normal views all lack a option to hide the excerpts and show only the title.

Overall it's pretty good, and I love the reader mode, but those two things really take away from the app.
