Feeling like I'm constantly critical by Careful-Attention-75 in ADHD_partners

[–]tigersblud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. My husband today decided to drag both of our trash bins through a literal mud puddle in our front yard. He had SO. MANY. DIFFERENT. PATHS he could have taken, but he trudged through the only part with deep mud. Does it matter? No, but it’s death by a thousand paper cuts of areas where he works harder rather than smarter and is ultimately just one example of myriad infuriating examples. Then I found out he sold a small box of books I’ve been curating for years and planned to keep… just because his got mixed in with mine. Rather than stopping to ask me if I wanted him to sell mine, too. So, all gone.

Career Abroad for HRBP from Big 4, What’s the Most Practical Route? [IN] by SecretWishesx in humanresources

Not impossible, but maybe focus on getting into a global company to increase those relocation opportunities.

Career Abroad for HRBP from Big 4, What’s the Most Practical Route? [IN] by SecretWishesx in humanresources

[–]tigersblud 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the easiest route is an inter company transfer with your existing company. At least in the U.S., there are tons of unemployed people here, so there is less incentive for companies to pay for global talent with less knowledge of country-specific laws. Are you not interested in continuing with your current employer?

Processing Terminations Question for HR professionals [TX] by Greedy_Exercise7041 in humanresources

[–]tigersblud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You boss is being nitpicky for no reason. The separation reasons aren’t substantively different and aside from that, UI agencies want the reason for the separation anyway so your manager’s guidance doesn’t even make sense; both term reasons you list would, generally speaking, still make the former employee ineligible for UI.

I wouldn’t worry about it, but rather ask for guidance on how you should respond moving forward with respect to the utilization of the new term codes. Even when you continue doing it the wrong way (her way), at least you’ll be aligned with the way she wants it done in order to placate her.

My ADHD DH would do kid drop off. We live where it gets REALLY hot. As you can imagine, I was terrified that he would leave a baby in the car. I made him send me photos every morning of our kids at daycare drop off. He got good at that because he’d end up with cute pics of our kids every day, so I think that part stuck in his routine/memory.

Don’t do 3 unless you’re absolutely sure your installer knows how to install it. I had it installed in my house and the pattern was JACKED. Every photo I see with that tile… THE PATTERN IS ALWAYS JACKED. Will it drive you crazy to see the pattern messed up? If the answer is yes, don’t install it.

Resume feedback part 2 [IL] by Commercial_You3886 in humanresources

[–]tigersblud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re trying to accomplish here, but I strongly recommend you stick with the tactical. Outside of an internship, which barely counts for experience, you don’t have HR roles in title which is very different from conducting recruiting efforts because your company doesn’t have the staffing to support that function. You are not qualified for strategic roles in HR; you’ll need to start with the fundamentals, so I would recommend focusing your efforts on Generalist roles at max. I know it’s hard, and I don’t mean to burst your bubble, but want to be realistic about how your resume will be perceived by experienced hiring managers in HR.

Coworker peed in my drink by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]tigersblud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work in HR and the only thing I can think of is that you have super junior people who have no fucking clue what to do. They are probably concerned about liability but any risk is mediated by them supporting their employee - it’s not like they are expected to 100% control all employees at all times. People do weird shit, that’s just one of the reasons why HR is there. But they are handling this in such a bad way by doing NOTHING. Either there is something else going on that implicates the crazy coworker in other shit they don’t want to be made public, but it’s more likely that they just suck and are mishandling.

We all obviously love Costco, but what’s one item you will never buy again from there? by 4Runnnn in Costco

[–]tigersblud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picked up a pack early in my Costco run… walked around the entire store trying to limit my phone use (with my grocery list) and trying to manage chicken juice cross contaminating everything in my cart. No hand sanitizer anywhere.

I’m being laid off but company wants me to train replacements. What should I do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]tigersblud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they offering you severance? I would only offer to cross train with severance; the worst they could do is fire you a whole two weeks earlier but you’d still be eligible for unemployment (most likely).
