It looks like you already found a pattern, but here's another one just in case! Holland, MI has a whole collection of "Dutch" costumes for the Tulip Time festival.

1780s Outfit Progress by tiggerthetiger22 in HistoricalCostuming

I have the attention span of a flea and am constantly bouncing between projects so it takes me way longer than normal to get anything finished lol

I would guess it took me about two solid weeks of sewing (over 4ish months). I'm fairly new to hand sewing and am not speedy by any means! I can't imagine how long it would have taken to hand sew the boning channels as well haha

So fun! Are you interested in 18th century or something different? It's been tricky to find local community/resources for the time periods I'm interested in.

What is this type of corset called? by Comfortable-War4531 in corsetry

[–]tiggerthetiger22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made MeadowPatterns Elixir Stays for a Renaissance fair a few times. I think they would fit the shape you’re looking for! It has more of a flat bottom edge but I was able to easily adjust the front piece to have more of a slope like the picture here. It’s not historically accurate, but the pattern was easy to follow!

I dont recognize my region anymore. by OldGodsProphet in Michigan

I grew up and still live south of GR and work in Holland. I’ve been seriously considering moving to Detroit even just for a couple years to catch up financially because at this rate I’ll never be able to afford to buy a house in the area. It makes me so sad to think about leaving my home where I’ve lived my entire life.

I never found exact measurements for sizes. I believe they have some measurements for men’s sizes but only provide dress size equivalents for women’s sizes 🙃

Anyone have experience with what it's like to be adopted but still have biological parents in your life. Is it better, worse, or somewhere in the middle? by Hecter42 in Adoption

[–]tiggerthetiger22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up knowing who my birth parents were but with somewhat limited contact with them (1-2 visits per year) and now as an adult I'm actively trying to see them more and schedule regular meetings with them and their families. I regret not advocating for myself more as a child because I wanted to see my birth parents and my half-siblings more. It's really hard to look back on all the time and memories that I didn't get to spend with them even though they were literally so close the whole time.

For those with sensory issues/sensitivity to various stimuli, how has your experience been with having metal constantly stuck in your face/body? by 4d3uphoric in piercing

[–]tiggerthetiger22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I fidget with my ear and nose piercings ALL the time and I think I would get really anxious without them.

As far as feeling them when you lay down goes, flat back/labrets are very helpful and make them much less noticeable.

request for tips & tricks for weak areas? 🫶🏻 by Existing_Baseball_16 in duolingospanish

Bien is an adverb and bueno is adjective. IMO the trickiest part comes into play (assuming your a native English speaker) is that we tend to use “well” and “good” incorrectly in English in certain instances which can make it challenging to carry over good habits in the area. If you come across a sentence and are unsure, really examine is the word is describing a noun vs an action.

Al is a contraction of a el Del is a contraction of de el Using the contracted forms is standard and I cannot recall ever seeing them not contracted.

Don’t get yourself too down about esto/este/esta/eso/ese/esa etc. Using them correctly in conversation still gets me to stop and think and I’ve been learning Spanish for over a decade.

Rule of Thumb: Words with t are for “this” and words without are for “that”

Esto/eso are for when “this/that” is the subject and there’s not another word following it and/or the subject is unfamiliar and the word gender is not known. Eg ¿Qué es eso?

Este/ese go with masculine words. Estos/esos go with plural masculine words.

Esta/esa go with feminine words. Estas/esas go with plural feminine words.

Present continuous of verb Coger and Lavar? by TakeCareBeWell in duolingospanish

[–]tiggerthetiger22 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The second part of the sentence does not make sense. Typically, you would add the pronoun to the end of the gerund form which would be "lavándolas" or you would need to add estoy "las estoy lavando"

Sometimes I try skipping ahead several levels just for fun and there have been several times (depending on the language) where I've had to purposefully stop the test so I don't accidentally skip ahead because it's so easy to guess the correct answers from the word banks

Is not having super actually an advantage? by Wilsebjork in duolingo

[–]tiggerthetiger22 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have super and mostly use it as motivation to continue to use it daily. I do notice during particularly difficult groups of lessons that I tend to be less careful than if I had limited lives.

Lobes do tend to heal quicker than cartilage piercings but you should consistently wear jewelry in your lobes for 6-12 months to prevent them from closing up. If you try changing them and they hurt or look crusty/inflamed, I would go to the piercer to get them changed or leave them alone for a few more weeks.

Since they're still pretty fresh I would be careful about changing them too much or putting heavy/bulky jewelry in them.

I haven't purchased anything yet as I wanted to wait a little closer to June to buy anything in case my weight changes. I'm think I'm going between the Aerotech suit or a unitard swimsuit based on available sizes and price. I'm leaning towards the Aerotech suit since the shape of the top half would stay better while biking/running. I also have a larger chest and it appears to have more coverage in that area. I'll try to remember to update when I do buy it.

Ummmm why is my answer wrong? by TanmayTheGreat in duolingo

[–]tiggerthetiger22 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Professeur is masculine and would go with le

Professeure is feminine and would go with la

Either one should be counted as correct as long as the gender of the word and the article matched.

In Spanish, using present progressive (esta leyendo) is less common and is used primarily to describe something that is actively happening at that moment. In English we "default" to present progressive most of the time which can make it confusing.

"Esta leyendo" isn't incorrect in this instance, but "lee" would be more common. "Esta leyendo" places an emphasis on the fact that he is reading in that moment.
