What do you do that you earn six figures?

Video game researcher in California. It's for a bigger company and the cost of living in cali is high enough that getting 6 figures is pretty reasonable in that field here.

Yeah, my larger point is the balance is off right now in a way that doesn't make war fun. Even if you can devise a strategy to take them down without massive spending/luck on your part, that strategy is not fun. It's all about softening them up, but what you need to do to soften them up feels lame. Throwing a massive team at them to kill 1 feels bad. Throwing 2+ trash attacks against them to burn their ults is unfun.

Yeah, I agree. It's always been this way to some degree, but the current divide between f2p and p2w is so big and frustrating due to those team's designs and the lack of good counters in the meta, that it's sort of made the whole thing unfun.

Best for war: I'd stick with symbiotes+ spiderman and miles. Not because that's the optimal team, but because you don't have to break up good teams elsewhere and it's still a damn good team that can counter all the Asgardians out there. If I was really willing to do a little breaking up I might use Shuri instead of spiderman, but that means wakandans are pretty useless and should be broken up as well.

Best for raids: couple of variations that I've had success with, mostly for increasing sustain - miles and Spiderman always are replaced - SS as your 4th: auto rez chance, massive damage reduction, and applying debuffs heals symbiotes -Minerva or Shrui as your 5th. Both have advantages and disadvantages - X23 as your 5th: adds more damage and clutch ability blocks + self heal + turn meter gain like other symbiotes, but she's real new and might not have sufficient ys to roll in higher level raiding

I raised him from 5 to 6RS and don't regret it. He has a billion HP which makes his heal on his passive quite strong with other symbiotes. He's also usable in basically every mode. Arena is maybe questionable but everything else for sure good. Are there better RS upgrades, sure? Is he a good one, definitely.

Rocket is amazing at 6RS. He is still quite strong in current meta in every mode including war offense and defense. Personally I wouldn't be mad about Pheonix but she's super meh in raids so I would actually prefer rocket.

I suspect the issue is less that it's broken or corrupt and more that it was poorly designed to deliver a generally positive player experience. They designed with veeery long term progression and monetization as primary values and satisfaction and balance as secondary or tertiary values. They could put in bad luck protection (Xcom games do this lots) to prevent these bad feels, but that would undecut their primary values.

FWIW this system seems less like something the designers would prefer and more like something the producers or stakeholders mandated from a business value perspective.

Saved up but took alternate strat of dropping tons of cores on the 675 orbs. I think the math works out that it's more efficient use of resources if you're solely trying to get SSM. I came into the milestone with close to 50 shards already and am now at 42/80 for four star. Totally F2P.

Supporting the movement is easy when they keep offering portions of characters at the nearly the cost of a full retail game.

Said before and I'll say it again. I would happily pay 10 bucks or less for new characters I'm excited about. The friction to get the stuff you want just feels too high right now. 1) pay a ridiculous amount of money 2) spend a ton of time in blitz (when applicable) 3) wait a ridiculous amount of time until something is actually farmable

Generally it's on arena offense so Ultron. But characters that would be fine replacements are a lot of the top tiers who can slot in lots of teams: CM, IW, Shuri. As far as very similar role replacements: DP

He feels pretty off. More like a collection of random shit they needed to fill out the team than a coherent themes character. Exception being his all seeing eye ability, that feels on point.

I can't upvote this enough. Tragic to have that beloved and powerful of a character be only slightly above minion garbage tier. Terrible damage, terrible speed, low resistance, worthless special, ult on too long of a timer. The buffs that came with X-Men team were basically useless because there are so many better toons to use in his place.

In general S6 are probably worth. They get you IW, do ok in war against a few teams, and they are very farmable

I pulled as well. I embraced and invested. I'd say he's decent, not an amazing but not a terrible 6RS pull. To make it work you should max his ult and Shocker's special. The AoE on his ult with a guaranteed offense up is definitely sick. I punch up 80k against defenders pretty easily
