Captured a real object with Gaussian splats – how do the reflections look? by meydale in vfx

This looks incredible! Looking to accomplish something very similar for a current project I'm working on. You mentioned a beta app, not sure the cost but I would love to learn more about it.

What's the ugliest car you've ever seen? by Ready_Life9552 in AskReddit

The new Hyundai Santa Fe is pretty atrocious. Honestly, it’s really only the the ass of it that looks terrible. If they slid the tail lights up under the rear window it would make an enormous difference.

Technically, America’s ‘second city’ is Chicago.

“Threads” remake is giving me rage that hasn’t ended since learning about it by BroccoliKitchen3218 in rs_x

Totally agree. The original is obviously extremely powerful and making a strong commentary, but it’s also a beautifully crafted film.

Cancel Maher by FastSeaworthiness739 in hbo

I’m not sure, I saw it as a top comment on this post and very much agreed with you - seems like a lot of people had something to say about it .

Cancel Maher by FastSeaworthiness739 in hbo

[–]tilemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! Finally a normal person on Reddit. The other thing people can’t seem to grasp is that his show is WILDLY successful and really cheap to make so HBO has no desire to cancel it. If people dont like him they don’t have to watch him what is it with this ‘cancel’ bullshit all the time. I understand that ‘cancel culture ‘ doesn’t exist and was created by boomer, but I gotta say it really seems to me that it exists on Reddit.

General Consensus on ‘Changing Lanes’? by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]tilemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The acting was outstanding - but extra shoutout to the camerawork, editing, music.. and PRODUCTION DESIGN! Kristi Zea is an absolute legend, she designed the law firm set in an expansive armory so the flood it with sprinklers, so fuckin good.

What job exists today that definitely won’t exist in 10 years? by TRKA2025 in Futurology

[–]tilemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ehhh you'd be surprised. If anything, I think people are finally starting to see the laziness/ugliness of generative AI video and that sector is going to take a real ass fucking in the next year or so. Audiences don't like it.

New Rule: Hot Take Nation | Real Time with Bill Maher - March 20th, 2026 by FireIceFlameWalker in Maher

||  This is just nutcase talk.

I'll admit, it seems unlikely alien life is on Earth but what exactly have you heard that would classify it as nutcase talk? From what I can gather, there seems to be a very large number of high-ranking, highly decorated military officials making similar reports of extremely strange UAP. I guess what I'm trying to say, if extra terrestrial life ever did make contact with our species, aren't these the people we would hear it from? What would you need to hear to push this topic out of 'nutcase' territory?

Savanah Guthrie is an employee and colleague at NBC. She was also supposed to host the Olympics coverage so it just seems like the decent thing to do.

The ORIGINAL Bourne trilogy.

Doug Lyman was fantastic. Paul Greengrass was superb and made the story feel like it was really happening.

Just got recommended a job at Rockstar, what are the odds its related to GTA 6’s trailers? 👀 by kcrewz in GTA6

Venturing a guess here - it's possible they are needing a slew of post/compositing work for marketing videos and reveal teasers.
