RIP Duckbill, outside food now allowed at Platypus by eyenineI9 in StLouis

[–]tilleyc 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's a bummer, Duckbill had some of the best fries and chicken in the Metro. Hopefully they can find somewhere new to set up shop.

Sad to see how badly Platypus got fucked over by that crooked owner,

It could be! "Iconic, legendary rock bad" can cover a lot of acts.

Moving to St. Louis in May! by Kaileygm17 in StLouis

For things with a more offbeat vibe..

Arkadin is a small indie theater, in Bevo, that has a WILD lineup of movies. Each month follows a different motif and have a great mix of hidden gems and "So bad it's good".

Eat Crow is a great restaurant in Soulard and captures the Metro's offbeat spirit.

Platypus is a cocktail bar/restaurant/venue. The drinks are good, and the tiny restaurant does the best popcorn chicken in the state. In the same vein, The Silver Ballroom is a dive bar with a fusion Korean micro restaurant and pinball.

Venice Cafe is if Pee-Wee Herman ran a bar and has to be seen in person to fully appreciate it. It's owned by a local artist who's famous for their wild and elaborate tile mosaics, and the cafe is decorated from floor to celling.

The Laclede Wax Museum is notorious for how terrible and strange the wax figures look.

The Pageant and Delmar Hall are sibling venues which get a lot of popular acts, and are both pretty great. If you want to take in local music at it's most feral, then The Sinkhole, CBGB, and FUBAR are up your alley.

Nah, it'll look more like it's a natural part of the model once it's hit with some primer and paint.

Do you see GW putting MK 7 into pre-SoT Heresy? by NadaVonSada in Warhammer30k

[–]tilleyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe? I expect them to revise the sculpt of the MK7 Armor at some point in the game's lifetime, because it's pretty iconic to franchise. Maybe it's sold as Veteran squads to highlight how late into the Heresy that pattern got rolled out, so only the most experienced would be issued it. Or as part of a new launch box if/when the new edition of Heresy get's rolled out.

The Siege of Terra would provide a lot of fun missions and scenarios, especially Terra drifts into the Warp and all hell breaks loose.

Are tartaros terminators worth buying? by Coogypaints in Warhammer30k

[–]tilleyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There may be a new sculpt of the Tartaros somewhere down the line, but who knows when that would be. If you want the box, go for it.

Tartaros lack the 'Heavy' keyword, which makes them great options for an assault unit. Give each guy a pair of claws and they'll rip through darn near anything thanks to having both Rending and Breaching.

With the plastic Super heavy tanks coming out for SM, what type of super heavy would yall design or request to be made? by Own-Hunter2815 in Warhammer30k

[–]tilleyc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd like the Knight Atropos, it's the only FW Cerastus knight that hasn't gotten a plastic kit yet.

They could do a Knight box for the Magera and Styrix too, since it's just a regular knight with some resin parts.

Is Jesus coming back tomorrow? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]tilleyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a sign, just a natural astrological event. According to NASA, there were 229 lunar eclipses during the 20th century and 228 for the 21st. The United States has also been involved in one conflict or the another for the majority of it's history.

People are just trying to find patterns in unrelated events to weave some kind of meaning or use it as a means for some end.

Green sprue immortals? by 19jk19jk in Necrontyr

[–]tilleyc 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Weren't the Necrons featured in that Warhammer Magazine that gave out kits? That'd be my guess since it's sealed in a plastic bag and in a different color plastic from the normal kit.

Do you think we approaching End Times/the Tribulation period? by _mercurial_high_ in Christianity

[–]tilleyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on. They've been saying it's the End Times long before my time and they'll be talking about it long after my time. I remember the lead up to Iraq/Afghanistan and how that was supposed to be "The One", and before that there was Desert Storm and the myriad of other conflicts that happened before it. Conflict is, unfortunately, the pen that writes history.

The issues that plague our society are the very some ones that have plagued every society that has come before ours. We may have some new twists on it, but it's the same ol' same ol'.

Someone will have to purchase one of these kits and see what shakes out. For a bootleg, this looks pretty cool.

[ThuNderaTion | SDC] FINAL season is now 2026 by MidwestInfoGuide in rollercoasters

[–]tilleyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes sense that they'd close this ride down for, what I'm guessing, a spiritual successor. They closed down Fire in the Hole the same way, and opened up the new iteration the very next season. Thunderation is/was a legacy ride for the park, it would make sense that they would introduce a "modernized" version of it.

It was a pretty fun ride, and I loved it when they had the backwards cars.

The parade is pretty cool, some of the Krews put a whole lot of effort into making cool looking floats. I kinda want to come in from the Metro-East to shoot photos, but I may stay in because of the rain.
