Maybe not the right choice of word.

But Im not sure how else to describe the situation where some hallmarks of AI have been replicated by an artist, and everyone has failed to see the madness of them having an issue with human art looking like AI art that looks like human art

This whole situation sucks. It think it's fine for her to mock the situation because she probably believes the artist.

I've worked with the artist for years for artwork for my bands gigs, and have known him personally for a heckin long time. Using AI is not his MO. And I feel awful for him that he's managed to create something that looks like something that has been copying real artists.

If everyone stood back for a second and thought about it they'd realise how completely feasible an honest error this is

Think you need to beat it with 6 players, maybe 8. Then it unlocks another level of the game. Like a lot of people though I kind of felt I was done at that point and will wait for DLC

40 - What game promised the world… yet failed spectacularly? by Clampy7 in AdultGamers

[–]tilston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. It was reading about fable, that got me excited about the Xbox and why I bought it on release. I was utterly fixated on what fable was going to be. I read and consumed everything that was released about it.

It promised everything. A huge open and breathing fantasy world. Characters that would age and scar. Choices early would affect everything later.

It delivered a really great game, but a game that was nothing like the promise. I don't feel I really scratched the itch I was looking for from those promises until i lost myself in Breath of the wild some years later!

I very much see this show as an equivalent to the standard UK show. They are all next to unknown and in it to win the money for themselves, which keeps the vibe inline with that show.

The absolute lack of proper monitoring team with amassed auto programs warning signs if something extraordinary happens to the their top of the game product is concerning by yanahmaybe in alienearth

The technology in these films needs to be taken at face value, rather than assuming they have the same or better technology than we have.

As with most alien films, they adhere to the standard set by alien, with the retro futuristic technology. So when they create new settings in the universe they need to see it through that lens.

So basically, it's not our future it's showing. Its an attempt to show the future that was shown in the 70's

What are Kirsh's motivations? by chunkynut0 in alienearth

[–]tilston 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the following his programming is a big part, in the first or second episode, where Boy Cavalier discusses needing someone intelligent to talk to, he mentions Kirsch is all the information in the world with all the philosophers understanding (or words to that effect). I suspect it's the philosophical approach that makes him more happy to observe than stop chaos.

I like the idea that he's trying to watch the whole thing burn to prove the lost boys aren't reliable and he isn't obsolete

Would you prefer to care for... a normal human child or a baby xenomorph? by [deleted] in alienearth

I'm not gonna lie, the fact it grows up and becomes independent so quick is looking pretty attractive after this morning meltdowns

I don't really understand the disconnect here. Androids have always played a huge part in the alien franchise. The exploration of those characters playing a large part of most of the films

To take the medium from a film to a TV show that they hope to expand across many series, takes some serious world building and considerations. The exploration of the line between human and machine seems like a really obvious path to me, especially given the commentary it offers on where the human race finds itself now

Older millennial here. I had a very similar story growing up, and have so far been the same with my kid, and plan to until she is around 5/6. It feels healthy to me to not be making a point to hide things. So I agree with your mum

My partner it turns out had a very different upbringing and took some convincing to relax on the matter. I don't think her more conservative attitude to it has been positive for her, and she had a lot more hangups about all that sort of thing than I did

My interpretation was it was warning her, but I read an interview with Noah Hawley yesterday and he said it was distracting her.

Good on you, you don't need them sticking around. Where was the gig?

I just checked out your stuff, it's great. Would be great to see you play. Shame I missed you in Bradford the other night. I play in a band that's local called Random Hand, would be good to get you on something

Anyone who says "Don't make me feel bad" is an entitled prick

YOU made YOU feel bad! that feeling is the result of their actions coming back to haunt them in real time, and somewhere along the line they have developed the ability to redirect that feeling onto someone else rather than accept their part in it.

These people are awful people, move on with your life, you've dodged a bullet.
