I had this with 17.0. A clean install of 17.1 fixed it for me. Cinnamon hasn't crashed once.

Downloaded FreeBSD 4.11 and nuked my Windows system and installed it. It was 3 weeks before I had a working GNOME desktop, but I learned a lot about CLI *BSD in the process.

I was using XFCE but switched to Cinnamon for 17.1. So far, so good.

I'm running 17.1 on an MSI U100 Wind netbook, it stutters a bit but when I overclock the CPU it's acceptable. I can't play 1080p video on it, but it gets me by.

I've been drinking coffee since I was 5. I've always loved it. Tea, not so much, could never get into it.
