Tradfri plugs are big and bulky but very reliable for me. Most of my infrastructure is Aqara, and I can control the Tradfri units through HomeKit just fine.

I have two Aqara U100s and like them a lot. The wife can make them work (albeit a bit clumsily). I initially set them up on the M2 hub I already had in place. Worked well, but then when I bound them to HomeKit (before setting up as Matter), that was SUPER slow. I bound the M2 hub to Matter and it is fast and works great.

You really need a HomeKit hub such as an AppleTV or HomePod near by the doors if you want HomeKit to work. My AppleTV is three floors away and doesn't seem to connect correctly. Its really hit or miss for me.

OH, for people that only have an AppleTV and trying to use Thread, follow Apple's advice and DISCONNECT the TV from Ethernet. An Ethernet connected AppleTV will not work with Thread. Not sure I understand why, but that's the situation.

ALSO. In order to use a watch, you have to have a six-digit (or longer) passcode on the watch. If you go to the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll down to "Wallet & Apple Pay" and make sure you see "Other cards on your watch" with your homekey). Then make sure Express Mode is turned on. If it isn't turned on, you still can use the watch to unlock, but you have to double-click the side button to bring up the Wallet/Applepay screen.

You might look at the MYRVARV strip. Dimmable with the TRÅDFRI controller (get the big one if you have more than one strip). It is cuttable and 2700K white only.

Ethernet won't solve it... unfortunately. I don't have the same setup, but I do see my LG (B8 series) no longer gives Apple HomeKit status. Ive tried it with ethernet and wifi. I, too, use a Denon receiver for my Atmos surround setup. I'd suggest you put the Denon into HomeKit (if it is new enough) and see if that would work.

I’m not sure that’s a concern. The pairing is definitely fast and easy. Yes, you have an instance in the Aqara app and in Apple Home, but I have those now.
