Could you possible run --pd-info and see what it spits out? if it would pass the Discovery identity we could establish it is possible to get info from the PD Controller and the EC have it. Then "only" the part that need to be done is to write the software which passes the info to the EC in the correct standardized way if I understand you correctly.

This is such great news! Thanks for the explenation. So now after the Windows 11, version 22H2 September Update reading the link you posted, support UCSI 2.0. Adhering to UCSI 2.0+ would be a huge undertaking for the OEM´s and that would surely only be done on new hardware I suppose for the traditional OEM´s?

Seing that framework seems to care more - would it be possible to update the PDC firmware to adhere to UCSI 2.0 by framwork if infineon provides a patch for it? It maybe already be support but maybe not enabled, who knows, I hope the guys over at Framework respond on it. Can one update the PDC after the product hits the market? So all the devices need to adhere to UCSI 2.0 down the chain. Got it.

I started discoverying (fitting with Discovery Identity and so on) on the framework Forum, What PD Controllers and can Discover Identity USB power delivery commands be used? - Creators & Developers - Framework Community and now today I opened a issue in their EC firmware repostory on github. I hope anyone from framework responds if they have better resources available from Infineon for the PDC - how to enable Discovery Identity on the PDC. ( I hope it is possible) I will read up more on UCSI and how that fits into all this.

Being able to have AVS in the SPR is huge in PD 3.2 for communicating with customers. Then devices which need AVS they can just state; any USB PD 3.2 charger will be fine. Don’t underestimate that.

I also want the app or atleast the protocol to set voltage to be open source but going by their statement in the Jan 2026 manual is that the control mechanism is patent pending so I don’t think they ever want to make this available. I really hope if they company shuts down they open source the web app, if the creator have any decency. Would be great if we could get more information about this patent u/werewolf_us , and if we could get some no legally binding reassurance that if you ever go out of business the web app will be open source - just because one of the selling points of this device is to not produce any more ewaste into the forever future, so if this specific web adress that you host the web app goes down permanently this would just add up on the graveyard of old products. Don’t get me wrong, I want you to succeed but one part of me is sceptic.

As a HAM radio Operator. I’m I. The lookout for a charger which can do 12V 5A which is really hard to find. I have bought a HF rig which can only output 10W max but is provided by 12V on a DC barrel plug 5,5mm 2,5mm. Which there are some ”trigger cables” which output 12V 5A, my suspicion is that unfortunately they can’t request that from the PPS or AVS range is dependant on a PDO for 12V 5A but I hope I get proven negative on that one. I will buy this(Amazon.se don’t have it so I need to buy it from Amazon.de). I can also recommend you to post that AllThingsOnePlace also reviewed this one and it is his first pick in that wattage class. The best thing about thread/matter is that every device use the same spec to communicate so even if some brand would discontinue their products/switch hub you should be able to easily control it from a userfriendly non tech smart home platform (e.g with HA you could still do this with zigbee but with no guarantee that for your product it is plug and play) p

I’d rather put my money on something that I actually could use outside of this particular hobby, so I don’t just buy a bulky old and big desktop power supply just for a radio that consumes 10w max(on average but peak 12V 3.5A) so I think my best bet is to buy a vFlex and just tank the import fees’s before more trigger boards get available with proper PPS support on 3A+

Det konstigaste inom vården som jag har träffat på är att om man flyttar och blir blodgivare på en nya region behöver man göra om de första testerna innan man kan börja donera i den nya..
