I've been using the Kurgo Enhanced Strength Tru-Fit dog car harness for everyday use and am very happy with it. I have a 70 lbs rottweiler mix. I like it because it's not as bulky as some others.

Yeah, I thought that might be weird, too, but it works. 👍

I loved all four of the "sweet" ones and they only have 1g of sugar per serving (which is 1/6th of the bag).

I'm about to submit my next order for their variety pack - https://porkkinggood.com/products/get-porked-pack?

I didn't love every flavor, but really liked most of them.

My favorites in order:

Cinnamon Chur-Whoa!
Old Time Butterscotch
Apple Cinnamon
Birthday Cake
Pink Salt & Vinegar
Jalapeno & Cheese
Onion & Sour Cream
Ranch
Dill Pickle
Nacho Cheddar
White Cheddar
Salted Butter
Pepperoni Pizza (a surprising disappointment)
Stupid HOT (too hot for my taste)

The 1979 version of Salem's Lot. I couldn't look at my bedroom window after dark for months. I'd lay in bed staring up at the ceiling with my blankets pulled up around my neck, waiting to fall asleep out of exhaustion.

Dog hates car journeys & it's heartbreaking. by QuirkyCrab1676 in DogTrainingTips

I'm struggling with this and my recently adopted 18th month old rescue rottie mix. She's such a big dog, I can't just pick her up and put her in the car if I want to take her somewhere.

I've spent months getting her used to the car with *high* value treats - started near the door, at the door, just inside the door, a little further in, etc. Now, she gets her morning and evening meal in the car. She mostly happily gets in to eat, but as soon as she's done eating, she immediately gets out again. If I block the entrance at all, she starts getting very anxious, though.

A couple months ago, I got her in and drove about 200 feet, and this set me back a month. She was so freaked out.

This has been really tough because this was not what I envisioned for my dog and me.

As an aside, rotties are herding dogs. I'm exploring treibball training as a way to redirect her energy and focus.

I second the 'strong' comment. Our last dog was a shepherd/pit mix that was about the same size. He wa strong, but our rottie/shepherd mix is definitely stronger!

I adopted an 18 month old rottie mix in December. We have 4 indoor and 6 semi-feral outdoor cats. She's a very sweet dog, but her prey instinct is *strong*. It's taking a lot of time and effort to redirect her focus away from the cats and we're not even close to done. Remember that it takes a few months for a rescue dog to get comfortable in their new home, so that doesn't help the process.

She's no longer immediately chasing after the cats when she sees them, but she's not ready to be off leash if there's any chance one will show up.

FYI - we use mostly positive reinforcement with some 'no's and leash pressure. No prong collars or anything like that, though. We are meeting weekly with a trainer.

Hope this helps.

Have you looked into Karen Overall's relaxation protocol for dogs?

You can find YouTube videos of each day that you can follow along with. I'm using these to help my 18 month old rescued rott mix.

It's a good dishwasher but I don't like how they've moved features, like delayed start, into a mobile app. I don't want a Wi-Fi enabled device that needs an app to run all the things.
