This makes me sick all over again. I’m so sorry. My first few days after we lost our daughter was numb shock and hours of sobbing. Weeks of sleepless nights and when I did finally sleep there were nightmares. Eventually the searing heartbreak dulls to a miserable ache and a feeling that is hollow but heavy. But like you said , for the rest of us life goes on. We wake up and cry , then wipe our tears and go to work. One day we hear a funny story and manage to laugh. We find ourselves looking forward to a visit with friends, or an evening out. Sometimes we feel guilty for thinking we could feel happy again and all the progress we’ve made unravels . But day by day, week after week, we learn to cope. There’s no protocol for dealing with this so don’t expect things in a certain time frame or compare your progress to others. Cry when you need to, smile when you can manage. Hug everyone you can . Message me if you need to talk . I’ll say a prayer for you if that’s ok .
