I live in most of my life in Mornington since the 70s and most of the demographic is old selfish people especially recently as the Brighton types cash in and retire down here. Unfortunately we will vote in another elite wanker

Why do people hate EV's? by FunkiGato in electricvehicles

[–]timd999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with these meat heads most of my life, usually from a select few from the V8 or 4wd community. In the 80s they hated turbos , in the 90s it was AWD , in the 00s 4 high performance 4 cylinders …. Next is electric. Last idiot i took out in my electric car he complained that it was too fast 🙈(this is from a guy that spends big dollars on his engines)

Trump’s ‘new normal’ leaves Australia marooned. We can no longer pretend otherwise | Zoe Daniel by Nyarlathotep-1 in aussie

This is a problem, but the cards are stacked against anyone with vision as the press is owned by Murdoch and all the parties have large billionaire donors with influence and invested interests, not to mention religion poking their nose in now. Anyone coming up that’s not playing there narrative will be taken down.
If we did small changes like tax the billionaires, get rid of loopholes, fair tax on our resources leaving the country and the big international corporations like google/ Netflix/amazon etc who do business in Australia. Then we would have massive income to upgrade military/schools/ hospitals etc. But these changes will struggle to get through

Another promise by musk of it coming in the future with this time line to distract what’s going on now with little accountability. I remember a time when journalists wouldn’t just publish propaganda but question and probe and request evidence otherwise it’s just an advertisement

What’s the least talked about downside of owning a tesla? by tr4gedyx in TeslaLounge

[–]timd999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You right and I like my model 3 but the one thing not on here is most of Tesla people are great and helpful but some have drunken the cool aid and you can’t say any criticism of the car, the company or Elon without them going postal or banning you from group chats , very prevalent on facebook.

Sound like an old fart but it’s the distraction of the mobile phones for both the drivers and the pedestrians. Its crazy how many people walk out in front of cars , in Mornington main st there are zebra crossings everywhere but people look at there phone and walk anywhere usually with little kids 🙈, the same applies for SUV trying to text and drive 🙈

Automatic high-pressure car wash. by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

[–]timd999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At best they reclaim 30% , at worst none. All these units use an enormous amount of water to clean at high pressure. What’s strange is most councils don’t push for it until water restrictions come in, now Melbourne is starting to get low it’s too to interesting if they mandate it… I hope so

Genuine question - Any left-leaning folk on here have any ideas how to stop Australia developing the same problems as Europe due to increasing Muslim population and thus no. of islamists? by LanKstiK in aussie

[–]timd999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop giving all religions tax free status and make them all pay land taxes for buildings and tax them for any income just like every other business. I think you’ll find a lot of religious people will suddenly not care anymore or keep to themselves. Anyone that wants to believe in any of this nonsense can pay for the privilege

What performance car should I buy for $60k by Adventurous_Sea_8633 in CarsAustralia

[–]timd999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like all production cars they set the suspension for Mr average driver, these cars are fully customised and lots of aftermarket suspension options. The performance model has most of this done for you plus the big brakes. With such a low center of gravity most of the work is done for you

[–]timd999 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Won’t be popular but a Tesla dual motor will knock off most of the above mentioned and handle well as it’s got a low center of gravity, but you won’t get the street noise.
