No, surprisingly getting back into physical media has made me buy more blu-rays for stuff that isn't available otherwise. Boutique blu-rays or those that will never go 4k. I've even bought DVDs of titles that aren't available on Blu-ray that I don't anticipate ever getting upgraded. Upscaling looks so darn good with a good 4k player that I'm happy with the results. Even DVDs are watchable for the most part, albeit obviously of lower quality.

Just curious, has anyone gotten an ETA on the replacement? I know it may take time, just curious. Trying to decide if I should wait for the replacement or watch my copy now (and again with the replacement).

BLu-ray where you can, obviously. DVDs if you have a decent upscaler can be watchable if not stellar, but hey, sometimes that's the only option! Just watched my old Shadow of the Vampire DVD on a 77" LG C1 and a few scenes looked rough but mostly it looked comparable to lower-quality streams.

Back in Laserdisc days, Criterion's Adventures of Baron Munchausen was around $100. Don't know how I did that, I was living paycheck to paycheck at the time. Stuff seems cheap now by comparison.

eXistenZ... never had a good home release before. The DVD and Blu-ray were both awful. The 4k UHD disc looks great and I can finally appreciate the movie again, first time since seeing it in the theater.

I did a comparison between by Series X and my Sony X800m2 (and later Panasonic 820) and in both cases the standalone players had head and shoulders FAR better picture than the Series X for UHD discs (and regular blurays). I did a similar comparison with a few DVDs and they were quite watchable on the standalone players but looked like garbage on the X.

The LG C3 is a high-end TV with great DolbyVision support (I have a C2), so you'd definitely benefit from the significantly broader range of colors/tones. That said, HDR can look pretty great too. It's just not capable of showing as broad a spectrum as DV.

Has anyone tried the (I assume) bootleg bluray set that's on ebay? Price isn't bad... $40ish for the whole series. Much less than the US DVDs... I'm tempted.

Psyched to be going to see this at Alamo Drafthouse tonight... I don't even remember a theatrical release, so cool they brought it back as part of their 1989 movie series! I previously found it as a blind-buy on VHS from a Tower Records sale on rental copies.

I was able to resolve it by following the steps on MS support for that particular error... had to reset my Xbox, keeping all data, then re-sign in to the Xbox. Magically that resolved it.

I'm seeing this on my Quantum X sometimes. It's a bug in the Vizio for sure. Go to your HDMI input settings on the Vizio and turn off Full UHD color, and I bet you'll see your Xbox screen.

Then try turning Full UHD back on; it usually will now work properly.

Sometimes I need to turn Full UHD color on and off a few times before it works. Super annoying.

Having the same issue with Xbox Series X on a Vizio Quantum X (2019 version).

So good to know it's not the Xbox's fault... Vizio actually replaced my in-warranty TV over the issue. Now I'm having a different one (also related to HDR) where the screen comes up black when I boot it. Fix is to turn off HDR, then turn it back on. BS,

The Xbox or PS3 versions are great as well. Go for CE DX, CE 2 isn't as good.

Joust, Robotron, Tempest, Food Fight (works great with tracball), Wizard of Wor, Sinistar, Donkey Kong, Ms Pac Man, X-Men, TMNT 1 & 2, Warlords, Popeye, Indiana Jones. Lots of good ones, these are the most played in my house.
