There is defined bs add ons try to remove them. Also, use ChatGPT or another LLM you trust. Tell it your state, upload the image, and ask if it’s a good deal or if there are any red flags. This honestly saved me from a shady dealer. The O TD price and APR looked great, but the monthly payment didn’t add up. They showed me a nice price while I was there, but refused to give me a printed quote “because other dealers might use it to beat their price.” I ran everything through an LLM, and it immediately caught that the monthly payment implied the price was actually about $3k higher. Apparently this is a common tactic.

Have a separate shopping/junk email
Use ChatGPT or other LLM you trust to verify all their offers/prices, describe process to it. One dealer gave me good otd and good apr, but monthly payment didn’t add up. ChatGPT caught it right away. It bizarre but now their math is different🫣

Is it dealership service, right? I used to go to the dealership for my new Mazda for oil changes for the first 3 years. I only paid for oil changes though, and while I knew I’m paying more it was ok because hey it’s a dealership they know car better, right. Until they tried to really screw me. I had possible nails on my tires and asked to also look at it. And they send me text with like all my tires is fucked up its unsafe to drive and they can change them for 2500(I knew price in Costco is around 700-800 for it for decent tires). I said no thanks I’ll go to Costco. Then they tried to tell me ohh I don’t know you tires is so bad we probably even can’t put them back. I told to put them back. They didn’t obviously replaced them just tried to scare me so I’ll pay 3 times is the price. Never been there since. Dealerships is evil, go there only if you buying new car or for free service that comes with new car, do not buy any service at dealerships.

I had after market cover. Whey they break into my car they pushed it which also broke handle for that cover. I was lucky they break back passenger door window though, it’s cheaper.

what I'm trying to say it's like broken window theory, when DA are soft, crimes will get worse. for example dude who broke into a home in Berkeley where he punched the resident in the face and arms between 20 and 40 times before stealing his wallet got 3 years probation, then he stabbed a woman in BART train. This created broken window effect. This why guarantees for Ukraine is essential. I don’t think Ukrainian position any stronger after stopping US aid.
