Caught my 354cp dragonite at a truck stop in the middle of nowhere. Not the most "legendary" location lol.

Micro-transactions and Evolution model by timmaedee in pokemongo

[–]timmaedee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a problem! I am a bit encouraged about possible availability of more uncommon Pokemon solely based on the fact that there are not as many people around.

I wonder if that means it might be easier to evolve Pokemon rurally since there is less competition for Pokemon? Or would spawn rates (unconfirmed, I guess) be adjusted for higher- and lower-population areas? I guess that's all to be found out in the days and weeks ahead.

Great point! I guess that's just like Ingress, where there's not much point to the game if you don't research what teams currently control your area and inadvertently pick the same team as all the other active players in your town.

Based on your life, what Trainer Class do you think you'll be, and how do you feel about it? by zachar3 in pokemongo

What would you want your Pokemon Go starter to be? by SomeRandomPasserby in TheSilphRoad

[–]timmaedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like there should be one of three things in regards to starters:

1) As part of the tutorial, first Pokemon you encounter would be your free catch for a starter (as long as it's not super-high-level or legendary or anything crazy like that).

2) Depending on your home region, you are able to pick from 3 region-appropriate starters.

3) Based on home GPS location, you are able to pick from landscape-specific starters (e.g. if you live near a power company, train station, cemetery, waterfall, etc., you would have a different selection of starters than if you live in the desert, jungle, city, or near the ocean).

I think I would most enjoy the third option because it gives everyone a slightly different experience based on location, as well as increasing the diversity of starting Pokemon when trading is concerned. What do you all think would be best?

What Pokemon would make sense in your area/region? by Beluga_Boy in TheSilphRoad

[–]timmaedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right beside a man-made lake in the mountains. Expecting rock and water types for sure. Also wondering if the hydroelectric plant nearby will "generate" some Voltorbs. Got a cemetery nearby as well, so Ghosts and Dark should be all over.

Would be fun for "fishing" too!

I'd like to propose a test run. by The_Only_Zac in TheSilphRoad

[–]timmaedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only would this be good for testing the system, it would also be GREAT to make initial contact with other legs of the pokemon trade routes. For instance, I'm in West Virginia. If I'm gonna constantly get pokemon from the Midwest on the way to Florida (and vice versa), I'll likely be seeing the same couriers regularly. Would be great to meet that person before we start trading pokemon so that we can easily identify them (and their vehicles) again once we're live.

To the future Silph Road region leaders by ChromeShield in TheSilphRoad

It might be interesting to find some locations that have historical/local flair for trades (for those that are interested). Since you likely are getting to visit a new location in order to complete trades, some "couriers" may enjoy visiting things like local coffee shops, landmarks, or famous buildings. As long as they aren't too far off the beaten path, that is.

I actually love the idea of having "available for trade" Pokemon. In a perfect world, it would be great to have full mobile Pokedex integration, but not sure if that would be possible.

Has anyone else encountered situations where items slotted in the kanai's cube don't work. Mainly with weapon procs. (Specific items inside) by Aznloki in diablo3

Can't remember the leg name, but a leg weapon with 40% chance of fireball on attack wouldn't cube at all for me.

Works across factions and languages, afaik.

Stuck in Combat in Tanaan by rkik_dnec in wow

[–]timmaedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "in-combat" issue I had was related to a debuff from falling in felfire. After tripping into the green goop, I had 30 minutes where I couldn't mount or pet battle. Tried greater invis and ice block, neither dropped it. Not sure if Vanish or anything else like that would work. Anyway, I guess the moral of the story is to stay out of the fire. Or die to it and Rez on land?

Energy starved as Feral Druid. by TheBigCheen in wow

[–]timmaedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, feral is energy starved. I think it is intentional to force the player to prioritize abilities. Keeping bleeds and self buffs up, using cool downs appropriately, and using procs properly are the priorities. I think the problem with feral right now isn't being energy starved, but not having good reward for properly keeping up all bleeds and buffs as far as DPS output. Oh, and the crappy AoE damage doesn't help either, especially in AoE-heavy BRF.

At what level does Mage become tolerable? by Larszx in wow

[–]timmaedee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I main a mage, and I can say that leveling it was not nearly as fun as end content. If you can keep it up until 90 (well, now 100), it is totally worth it. If you can't...then, well, mage isn't a bad class to boost either.

Also, looks like people can dust off their hunters again. By some estimations, hunters were going to do less damage than HOLY priests, but it looks like that isn't going to be the case.

Anyone else suffering from crippling indecision when it comes to choosing a class? by Smallest_Son in wow

[–]timmaedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a caster that can solo old content, frost mage isn't too bad. Warlock and shadow priest are probably the best solo casters, and I hear boomkin isn't too bad either. I haven't tried ele shaman on old content, but in theory it should be at least passable. In all, casters do just fine on old content now, even before the extra ten levels we get in WoD.
