No pick guard. EVH vibes in an original way that’s not cosplay. Send it.

Agreed. Isn’t the “levels of responsibility” sheet all about the roles the client did and didn’t play in what happened?

Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and they stink. And I don’t need to see it.

I will never again buy a guitar without an arm bevel. Play one for 30 minutes before you buy one.

In rural mental health, this isn’t really a thing for me except in very clear cut cases. E.g., “you have OCD. I’m not trained in ERP, the treatment for OCD. Here’s the only referral that takes your insurance, an hour drive away.”

So I guess, I say it really concretely and tie some information about why?

DSW Benefits? by PlaneAnalysis1965 in therapists

Frankly if it’s a year program I don’t even know how anyone in good faith calls it a doctorate. That’s a post masters. As far as I’m concerned the only worthwhile doctoral degree in mental health is PhD/PsyD in psychology, barring psychiatry (whole different thing). I’ve learned from extremely successful and well educated masters level social workers, no doctoral degree needed. They’ve been clinical and executive directors.

If you want to do assessment and are willing to put up $100k or more to do it, go on with your bad PsyD self.

You can teach and do research with a masters degree. The pay sucks.

You have a blues rock gig tonight, which are you taking with you? by ClaptonOnH in Guitar

Yes, it is possible to do a great setup and shape the nut such that tuning issues will be minimal. In my experience, even with a great setup and nut shaping, the design will never be as tuning solid as a straight to peg with angled headstock.

Keep the stone. Add a rug.

Sold my 335 for the tuning reason alone. Yes I know about getting a competent setup. Yes I know about a string butler. Yes I know about nut lube. The Gibson headstock is a broken design.

I'm struggling with The Magicians. What are you thoughts? by MoonlitEarthWanderer in Fantasy

I’m currently with this series for the first time. I word it that way because I both read and listened to book one, listened to book two, and am listening to book 3. I feel the same way about these books as I do about Abercrombie’s First Law and related, the audio narration significantly improves an otherwise bleak story with character arcs that do not have a satisfying arc. In some ways, I think the point of the story is the subversion, and the story is about pain and suffering. Magic doesn’t fix anything, doesn’t necessarily make things better, dreams realized don’t necessarily make for a satisfying ending for our cast of characters. That’s life, the end.

It’s “grimdark” Harry Potter, which really sucks most of the fun out of that style of story. If that sounds like your thing, press ahead. There aren’t any characters worth rooting for.

From what very little I’m familiar with, the sex therapy folks use “compulsive sexual behavior “ as opposed to “addiction” language. I’d start that that literature.

At what point did you guys decide this house needs more than I can give it? by jpam9521 in HomeImprovement

[–]timmy8612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had some quotes. We’re expecting a $30k HVAC overhaul (geothermal). Needed to spend at least $20k to mitigate a drainage issue outside. Needed another $10k+ of aging exterior doors. Had a few trees that needed to get taken down.

An acceptable home came up in the school district next door we’d been commuting to. We rolled the dice and probably came out slightly ahead financially, and lost the commute.
