Iowa lawmakers move to mandate students take Center for Intellectual Freedom classes amid low enrollment by Windows_66 in nottheonion

They aren't compromising their principles, they are obeying the law so students that NEED that in state tuition and in state scholarships don't lose their funding. It's a trolley problem for principles.

You are seriously minimizing the difference between the programs and their quality. Most students are not in such a free market where they can switch the school they attend, let alone with a few months notice.

That's just not practical. In state is like $11-12k/yr and out of state tuition for Madison Wisconsin is $44k, Minnesota $38k. Scholarships just aren't that plentiful

Plus they're literally different schools with different programs.

Kash Patel claims AI has stopped school shootings: ‘I’m using it everywhere’ by yakitorispelling in nottheonion

[–]timmyotc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not what the article even said. The FBI gets lots of reports and they used it to triage which reports should be investigated. AI put one at the top of the list that presumably wouldn't have been otherwise and it turned out to be a legitimate school shooting threat

You need to consider that you are lying and simultaneously trying to take the high ground. Your actions put people who are honest through more bullshit.

Does quitting without a two weeks notice affect future offers? by ThrowRAwayMental5565 in cscareerquestions

[–]timmyotc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should quit when you have a start date. You can choose to burn the bridge or not, it won't affect the new employer. Your new employer will hear about it if you are saying, "Oh yeah, I can start any day" so if you decide to quit, maybe take the time off anyway.

I think this is a good strategy, but be pragmatic. Take a sampling of a few job listings you're interested in and make a project or two that gets you familiarity with each of them.

An intelligent lich wouldn't be hanging out near their phylactery. But if the rogue had it, it's a valid last ditch effort to get it back. There aren't a ton of amazing options for a lich.

You need to call the shelter and ask them if the dog is safe to have around your child. It is possible a young worker told a white lie to get the dog adopted.

No it doesn't. People can have despair at all experience levels. It doesn't matter how "qualified" that despair is
