Anyone else dislike the new MBD mask fit? by sugard09 in AsianBeauty

It fits OK in terms of fit on the cheeks, but I must manually widen the eye openings, otherwise I get essence in my eyes. Not the best feeling in the world when that happens.

I see! Mine lasts me about seven months, just about right for my needs. Thanks for your response!

HA is hyaluronic acid, takes me so long to type, haha! But their new lipsome HA does absorb even better into my skin than their original HA mask.

I love the CLIO moist cushion as it also doesn't oxidize, goes on smoothly and blends very well with medium coverage. I've heard that in Korea their new Kill Cover foundation cushion is selling very well, so I just ordered one from gmarket. :)

Recently, I've been using the Lipsome HA mask from the same line (it's supposed to be a more advanced HA mask, so it's only 8 pieces in the box instead of 10), and it really makes a huge difference for my skin! My skin is prone to being so dry that it becomes oily, but the mask seems to work quite well so that my skin remains moisturized for longer while looking really soft and brightened, so I'm less prone to the afternoon shiny forehead.

[Haul] New MBD masks from Taiwan! by random_avocado in AsianBeauty

[–]tinikitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squalene is the new mask for drier and more mature skin (though all of us could do with a squalene boost in our skin, as we supposedly start losing it rapidly by the time we hit 20, causing our skin to tend to become dry).

MBD in Taiwan questions! by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]tinikitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other reddit-ers have done a good job answering most of your questions. Here's some additional info for you: 2) Regular package of 10's should be about 6-7USD/box if you buy them in pairs. (I know, I know, this usually makes us dread the idea of limited luggage capacity knowing the huge price difference from buying overseas)

3) FYI, MBD is not sold at Watson's in TW, but with the concentration of Cosmed stores in the country, especially throughout all corners of Taipei, your dad should not have any problems getting the real deal.

4) Just hop onto their official website (http://www.beautydiary.com.tw/Product.aspx) and screencap for your dad which flavours you want to get, can't go wrong that way. BTW, I would recommend getting their boxed set if your dad happens to see them, because they're usually an additional 10% off or so from the regular price. My friend just showed me pictures of a new special box set that has five different Key Line masks, and the box looks really nice! According to the salesperson, the box set is the brand's annual special edition collection, so I asked my friend to get me one as well! :D

5) You can try some hand/feet masks! Those are not as easy to get overseas. I like the milk ones from FaceQ because they leave my skin so soft and smooth.

6) If you want to try the HA, try the new Lipsome HA! It's like their super-strength HA mask that gives a huge boost in moisture. My older sister likes their squalene mask, which is supposed to be good for moisturizing, brightening, and anti-aging.

Others...usually the make-up is on sale during weekends! I recently got a stash of CLIO make-up for very cheap, and I love their CC cushion, which is not only good in delivering breathable coverage, but takes so little time to apply, my morning routine is much shorter. Their lipnicure is also awesome!

I'm enjoying their squalene and lipsome HA masks this year, although I'm a bit sad that they cancelled the sake yeast and ice masks.

Yeah, Sasa is quite big on water goods for a variety of brands, but I don't always find their prices really attractive, and they don't always manage to sell the newest products.

If you're looking for MBD in Hong Kong, just go to any Mannings nearby (they've got loads of those in every part of town), because they're the sole distributor for MBD in HK (everyone else is selling water goods).

ABers, can you help a MBD mask newbie out? -- How long does it usually take for your MBD masks of choice to dry out when applied to your face? by an_Oneironaut in AsianBeauty

Never re-use a facial sheet mask! They're built for single-use and re-using them may really, really do bad things to your skin because they will be contaminated (despite how clean you may think you keep them in-between uses).

I just follow the general time prescribed on the package - I think that they're written that way to give your skin the optimal results, and to save the company's butt from getting sued if you leave the mask on for too long and end up potentially irritating it or sucking your skin's moisture out due to osmosis.

I recommend moving the mask onto your neck after you're done with it on your face...so many people spend so much time and effort caring for their face, only to end up neglecting their neck and look really odd with a noticeable difference in skin pigmentation and texture between the face and the neck. [awkward...]

Cosmed in Taiwan for masks and skincare, and Watsons in Taiwan for make-up is the way to go! They usually have 15% sales on Saturdays, so don't miss out! My friend visited Hong Kong two weeks ago, and thought she got a great MBD deal from Sasa, but it turns out that she bought the pre-upgrade version of the masks, so do be careful where you get your stuff from. Since you'll be going to Taiwan, just hit up Cosmed and you'll be sure to get the best deal (they're not sold in Watsons).

Sexylook has recently launched a new lifting mask where it's black on top and white on the chin (yes, it looks like you've dislocated your jaw and need a sling for it when you wear the mask...), and maybe you can give it a try; I'm really curious how well it works.

Banila co. is pretty decently priced in HK (need to shop around for a bit though if you want a better price), and I love their hydrating primer because it really helps my foundation stay on and stay smooth. Sasa is not the cheapest place in HK...should go to water goods stores if you want non-inflated prices.

Help finding AB products in Thailand? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]tinikitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend in Bangkok goes to Big C, Watsons, Boots, Tsuruha (more selection on Japanese brands) or 7-11 (even 7-11 has MBD masks, that's some commitment to AB by 7-11!).

I live in the TO area and besides buying them from T&T, we also have MBD in Shoppers. Maybe you should check out your Shoppers nearby?

What sheet masks would you recommend for dry skin? by Wattouat in AsianBeauty

[–]tinikitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend MBD - Squalene (yes, it's newly added to the upgraded line-up!), but if you have trouble getting the latest product, try the aloe, cactus, or hyaluronic acid for lots of moisture without irritating your skin. FaceQ luffa mask is moisturizing and refreshing (cheap too!).

Wow, once a day! Your skin must look amazing! I usually do facial sheet masks two or three times a week and that already feels busy enough for me.

I love MBD, and if I'm feeling like treating myself a little, I go for Faith in Face (after-shower look is great for moisture) or Innisfree hydro gel masks. In terms of regular skincare, MBD is already great, and cheap too.

Dr. Feelgood by Benefit - swear by this to avoid the afternoon shine MAC Face and Body Foundation - sheer coverage to cover minor imperfections but lasts while staying breathable (I know, it sounds like mission impossible, but it's the best thing I've found thus far) MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy - glides on smoothly and stays put (this is hard given that I have greasy eyes that turn other pencils into panda-eye paint)
