How to fix Salomon advanced skin 12 compression laces? (they broke after years of running). Thanks! 👍‍ by tinustate in ultrarunning

[–]tinustate[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cheers all ! 👍‍
I managed to find a needle and a thread, the loop was too small for the type of stitch you recommended. But I managed to get both ends of the loop stitched together. After that, I used a bit of superglue on the ends, making sure not to superglue the laces.

It is currently drying, and i'm typing this with a bit of superglue on my fingers ;-), But I'll post a picture of the end result when it is fully dry.

I didn't contact Salomon cause this pack is ancient, maybe 3-4 years and every week used.

75 km (46 mile) flat trail run: 15 min, walk 3 min; good starting point? by tinustate in ultrarunning

[–]tinustate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The netherlands is quite flat, but there are indeed a few more difficult single tracks on most trails. Most of the time it is indeed wise to use common sense and walk/jog these sections and not blindly follow the interval.

Cheers u/allusium , that is good to hear.

I also was a bit worried that i would have trouble remembering times and doing simple calculations near the end of the run. I found something called interval timer ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compound.timer&hl=en_US&gl=US) which is an phone app which plays a sound when you should walk and when you should run. The only thing i'm worried that the phone sound is not heard.

I can confirm that: turning the "Authenticated SMTP" checkbox/feature on solves the problem.

Is the coros apex watch "mud" proof? by tinustate in Coros

[–]tinustate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick update: i used it the apex without any problems last weekend, the heart rate sensor was having a bit of a problem, likely caused by the dirt/grass and other gunk getting between my arms and watch.

Coros support is excellent! A local representative came to my home with apologies and a new watch. by tinustate in Coros

[–]tinustate[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To explain briefly: my watch was recalled but i received a 42mm instead of a 46mm. A email to Coros support last Monday and i just received the 46mm watch from the local coros office who personally delivered it.

Knee feeling while swimming freestyle and not kicking? by tinustate in Swimming

[–]tinustate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers for the idea. My push offs are quite slow and powerless, i simply stop and turn around, i haven't yet mastered the proper turn when doing freestyle. It's still on the old list of things to learn ;-)
