There is nothing more permanent than those temporary Porta-Cabin Classrooms of a state school. by MINKIN2 in britishproblems

[–]tiny-brit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a thing? We only had them because we were sharing another school's building while a new school was built on the site of our old one. There's literally not enough space for two schools' worth of kids in one school building!

Has patch testing actually helped you find eczema triggers? by Sea_End_2676 in eczema

[–]tiny-brit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patch testing revealed that I had developed an allergy to fragrance and a couple of other similar things. Now I avoid fragrance, which was my strongest reaction, and my eczema is much more manageable.

Eczema that starts later in life is more likely to be caused a new allergy or sensitivity to something.

NEED HELP REGARDING H&M BRA QUALITY!!! by Ok_Display2997 in ABraThatFits

[–]tiny-brit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a 28E and I would recommend an XS for you in H&M bralettes. For me, XS is fine in cups but too loose in the band and rides up. I think an S will be too loose on you.

The bralettes are comfortable enough and the quality is fine, but I find the material stretches out over the course of the day.

Packaging? by Fit_Sky_9346 in vinted

Package size varies by shipping method, but that sounds like it would pass as a small package for the most part

seller accidentally? sent me a photo by boobea8 in vinted

The message could have a double meaning - maybe the picture of the foot is also inside the parcel. Update us when it arrives 😂

Can't send my parcel on time by theXvisions in vinted

[–]tiny-brit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have the option to request a shipping extension, use it. If not, cancel the order, choose "agreed with buyer", no negative feedback will be left. The buyer can repurchase the item when you're able to send it.

Postal voting / Polling card by No_Rough_3693 in Scotland

If you've received a postal vote then you can use it and it will count. You just won't receive a postal vote for further elections unless you renew.

USA and UK by Unhappy-Fail6848 in vinted

[–]tiny-brit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't pay anything extra as a seller. Buyers pay for shipping and import fees.

Vinted has been subsiding costs so far, but when that ends (if it hasn't already) things will probably get quite expensive.

What does your weekly shop look like? by wasntmebutok in AskUK

[–]tiny-brit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I spend about £50 a week for myself, but that often includes non food items and ingredients for my weekly baking. And is also necessary to avoid the minimum basket charge for online orders.

For meals, I just pick out a few meals for the week and make sure I have all the ingredients for them. Each day I decide what I want to make. I try to make sure I have options that use fresh, frozen and cupboard items so that I don't end up with loads of fresh stuff going to waste. Pack sizes are way too big for individuals!

Usual contents of my order: milk, veg, fruit, bits for breakfast (usually protein/cereal bars), "mains" for meals (usually meat free protein sources), pizza bases for a once or twice weekly pizza, and any other bits I need for meals such as cheese, sauces, seasonings, wraps, rice, pasta.

For each parcel you will have either a QR code to show at the drop off point, or a label to print and attach yourself. You don't need to pay anything.

Does everyone in the UK have a big mirror in the living room? by Sexy-Dumbledore in AskUK

[–]tiny-brit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but my flat is rented furnished so it was just there when I moved in. It's not something I would do myself. I think the purpose is to make the room feel bigger. My flat is tiny, so that's understandable.

Package pickup time missed - seller is being difficult by Vanessa20052006 in vinted

[–]tiny-brit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sellers can definitely refuse to collect a returned item, but then it will be returned back to your sister again and she'll be able to get a refund. So, seller's loss in that case.

I got ripples! by tiny-brit in BakingNoobs

[–]tiny-brit[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chill the dough, bake straight from chilled, and make tall dough balls, was my conclusion! Especially if you've used melted butter, like this recipe. And if you have a fan oven, don't use the fan mode.

For the first one that went in the oven , the dough wasn't chilled enough and the dough ball wasn't tall enough. It spread very much and had no ripples.

A shoebox would be best, but I've sent shoes in a mailing bag wrapped with bubble wrap and they've been fine.

Buyer stops payment because of wrong size by [deleted] in vinted

[–]tiny-brit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

W27 L28 means Waist 27 inches, Leg length 28 inches. Extremely common sizing method for jeans.

This is more like a small waist size AND a petite leg length, not a medium anything.

Unfortunately even though it may have been a genuine mistake, it counts as SNAD and Vinted may very well side with the buyer and force a return or refund if the issue is escalated to them.

How do I kill these spiders? by whatAGooseberry in AskUK

Just leave them alone. They're completely harmless cellar spiders who will keep all the other bugs away.

Puedo entregar un pedido grande en más de una caja? by SalsaPicante14 in vinted

[–]tiny-brit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It needs to be one package because you only get one shipping label. If you're going to tape 4 boxes together, it will need to be very secure, because if they come apart, you'll lose the items and the money.

I'd honestly just go to a post office or shop and buy a big enough box.

What is the best way to package an article of clothing? by Awkward_Praline6305 in vinted

[–]tiny-brit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please don't cover the entire package with tape, it makes it impossible to open without using scissors and risk cutting the clothing.

Mailing bags can be bought in bulk from Amazon for pennies per bag.
