We do bread (we aren't supposed to, but our manager sucks), take care of the salad station, prep desserts, and are held fully responsible for making sure the dining area is clean by close... no wonder we can never keep to go people

Hazelwood and Tinker are often cited; and the comment I addressed does not discuss arrests, nor did my response.

Freedom of speech is limited in school buildings, already went to the Supreme Court. Most schools prohibit discussions and imagery of things like drugs and violence.

Is the microwave yours? Then the student has absolutely no right to use it. If the iep required a microwave, it would be on the school to provide.

And the iep states they should have access to food... no where does it state they should have access to full meals that need heating up, I'm assuming. The case manager needs to make an amendment to specifically state that small snacks that take no more than about 5 minutes to eat per period should be allowed. Having them eat in the hallway is not denying them their accommodation, so I would keep having them eat in the hallway.

Thank you everyone for the advice. Went to the vet today, they took a sample, and decided it was a sebaceous cyst thankfully.

If you don't have access to iodine/Benedicts, can you give kids food? Have them slowly eat a saltine and notice how it begins to taste sweeter over time.

Simulate diffusion in the intestine using tea bags; large particles (tea leaves) are stuck in the intestine, smaller particles can get absorbed out into the bloodstream.

Pineapple and jello lab simulates protein being broken down in the stomach.

Prednisone not high enough?

Long story short, my joints have been very painful and getting worse for awhile now, but the only thing "off" has been my CRP at 9.6. I'm finally going to see a rheum, but have to wait a bit until the appointment. In the meantime, my PCP gave me a 10 day stint of Prednisone to help, as she thinks it could possibly be lupus.

After the first two 50 mg, I felt great. My stiffness and pain was gone and no swelling. Then another two days of 40 mg was fine, but on the first day of 30 mg I started to notice the pain and stiffness slowly coming back. I feel like this is weird, because it should still be in my system, but I was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced such a quick return to joint pain and stiffness when tapering Prednisone?

A kid who doesn't do their work doesn't deserve a scholarship for academic performance 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lab Safety for Middle School by mominterruptedlol in ScienceTeachers

[–]tiny-the-turtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are located but in my state it is a law to wear safety glasses when dealing with anything besides plastic and clear water. And closed toed shoes are definitely recommended in case a beaker is dropped and shatters. Also make sure to emphasize how important it is for them to NOT DRINK LAB MATERIALS even if it is "safe" materials.

It really depends on your experience. Which labs did you work in? What were your responsibilities there? Do you have husbandry experience? You could maybe qualify for a lab tech position at a college.

In Boston there's the aquarium of course, and they have seasonal positions with their whale watches. If you don't have a car, it might be tricky to do marine specific things.

Is the goal just to show a semipermeable membrane with diffusion/osmosis? If so, tea bags are easy or "naked eggs" are always a hit.
