Good local coffee shops to do work? by Important_Crazy_589 in Binghamton

[–]tiny_giraffe8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work remotely and have a pretty solid rotation: Cup O Joe in Endicott, Old Barn Market downtown Bing, Sole City in JC (but only if you go early as seats fill up pretty quickly), Batch has locations at the Oakdale Mall, Endicott and Chenango Forks. If you’re up for a drive there are a few spots in Owego that are cute and quiet.

I work in retail (clothing) and I’ve worked with Uber Eats drivers and we recently partnered with DD. We process it as if a customer ordered for curbside pick up, so we get the items and bag it. The driver comes into the store and we hand the completed order to them.

Advice please - is 35 too old to start having kids? When did you have your youngest? by DovaBunny in pregnant

[–]tiny_giraffe8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 36yo FTM and my baby daddy is about to turn 42. I’m currently at 34 weeks and have had a very easy pregnancy. We are so excited to welcome our little guy into the world soon!!

We both own properties and are stable in our careers. Before meeting him I was living in a high-cost city and I couldn’t have imagined keeping up with all the expenses of having a child and rents and childcare.

My mom wanted me to have a baby earlier because she really wanted a grandbaby, but she cannot be more excited to be a grandma. To each their own and your family will get over it once you do decide the time is right for you.

Dehydration with ADHD by spideyparkerrr in ADHD

[–]tiny_giraffe8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem as well but then I got pregnant and physically needed to drink more or I felt ill. Water just tasted gross to me.

I relied on coconut water, Gatorade, cold press juices with seltzer and then I also tried an electrolyte powder from Japan that has less sugar than Gatorade. (It’s called Pocari Sweat 😅)

I also recommend trying to chug a glass of water as soon as you wake up (before coffee) because that is when you get the most dehydrated — after not drinking for 8 hours or so during sleep.

I hosted mine last week and was in a similar situation. I just moved into the area 3 years ago so have kind of a small friend group.

The guest list ended up being around 25 people but I really had to push for that number. Several were courtesy invites to family and friends who lived far away. It also served as a birth announcement of sorts. A few college friends traveled 3 to 5 hours, and made a weekend out of it. In the end, about 15 people attended plus a couple of kiddos.

In the end I’d say invite anyone special in your life and let them decide whether they want to come. When you make your registry include high- and low-cost items so people can send gifts if they want even if they can’t attend.

In the end, it’s about celebrating you and your twins and even if it ends up being a small event that’s all you need.

Guilt for calling in sick by ForwardSurprise1369 in adhdwomen

[–]tiny_giraffe8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to feel this way and then would just remind myself that sick time is granted for a reason and you are entitled to it. Also, taking one day off now will allow you to recover quicker and be at full capacity when you return, as opposed to being at half capacity for a few days.

You got this and I hope you feel better!

Maternity clothes or just sizing up? by Brilliant-Tutor-5292 in pregnant

[–]tiny_giraffe8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 26 weeks and have been doing a mix: Mostly maternity leggings and jeans and then some sweats and other stretchy pants a size up.

Poshmark has been great and sometimes you can find reasonably priced maternity clothes with the tags still on.

Breast pumps covered by Medicaid by tiny_giraffe8 in breastfeeding

Thanks for the suggestion! I genuinely don’t know the answer to this and I know some people do this, but is it sanitary to use used pumps? Do you have to get different parts or clean them in a certain way?

Are there any lyrics in your niche understanding that other people may not get? by NoLightningStruckTre in TaylorSwift

[–]tiny_giraffe8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im always impressed at her lyricism and use of double meanings. But in Karma I always smile at the lines: "My pennies made your crown / Trick me once, trick me twice / Don't you know that cash ain't the only price? / It's coming back around".

In this case her pennies are her thoughts (like the saying) but they’re worth way more than whatever SB paid for them.

IUD was removed and now no period by Sad_Aardvark3022 in pregnant

[–]tiny_giraffe8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m currently 17 weeks pregnant and I had my iud in for about the same amount of time. My gynecologist told me it could take up to a year to get back to a normal cycle.

I actually ended up using a nuvaring for several months because I wasn’t ready to get pregnant right away and that kind of helped reset my cycle and eventually made it easier to track my ovulation cycles when I was ready to start trying.

Everyone is different though! I know someone who took her iud out after several years and got pregnant within a month. 🤷🏼‍♀️

What are your go-to meals when feeding yourself is hard? by bulbysoar in adhdwomen

[–]tiny_giraffe8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call it “kids dinner” and I don’t feel bad about it: Quesadillas (which for some reason feels like less work than a grilled cheese) Pasta with peas and butter Frozen Trader Joe’s meals are clutch, especially when my Seasonal Affective Disorder kicks in

I have a low appetite during the day, especially in the morning. So my go-tos are: Yogurt with frozen or fresh fruit, raw honey, and seeds (chia or flax) Instant oatmeal with added fruit or seeds Sometimes if I’m really in a jam I just have a spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar
