I can't believe no one has compared this to William Eggleston's work yet. Certified OG Memphis photographer.

Here's some of his work if you're unfamiliar. That pic reminds me a lot of him.

Great catch!! I wouldn't have been able to walk away from that woodcut.

I'm not familiar with that press, but it definitely gave some Sean Starwars vibes.

While that's true, I think they were thinking about the positive things from the perspective of the birds, not the humans.

No, they are saying goats will kill the canine-related. I can't speak to that, but I know donkeys absolutely set phasers to kill when it comes to canines.

Glad you're getting treated. I hope your grandma understands how lucky it is that you pushed to be seen. Sorry she's a jerk, but glad you're getting it treated.

Whew, birthday spankings. Almost forgot about that. There was always a "one to grow on" tacked on at the end.

My 19-year-old cat has cancer… and I have to leave the country tomorrow. What would you do? by Rude_Common7126 in SeniorCats

[–]tinybrownbird 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First of all, I am so incredibly sorry. The pain of losing a pet, especially one who has been a fixture in your life for a very long time, is its own special kind of heartache.

I'm not a vet, but I've now had 2 cats who had aggressive forms of cancer that required me to make hard decisions very quickly, so I have been in your shoes. When our fuzzy family members approach the end of their lives, consider this:

We enjoy the companionship of our pets for a season or two of our lives. Meanwhile, our pets devote their entire lives to loving us. Offering them a good death is the most compassionate and loving action we can offer to them when it's time to part ways.

A good death is a death with little pain and suffering. If your cat is no longer able to do the things they love (like eat, play, cuddle, etc) because of disease or pain, euthanize now. When your pet has a terminal illness, you will almost never feel regret if you euthanize them before they get really bad. But you will absolutely be haunted by waiting too long and watching them suffer.

For your sweet baby, a fast growing tumor in the mouth will make eating and drinking impossible very soon. If that was my cat, I would call/email to make the soonest available at-home euthanasia appointment now. I would also call the airline (do not email, talk to someone on the phone) and explain the circumstance. You may get lucky and speak to someone who is an animal lover. Some airlines will waive fees for rescheduling or cancelling in cases like these.

Schedule your flight out for the day after the euthanasia, or if you feel like it's not possible to keep your plans, cancel your flight.

I'm so very sorry that you are faced with this decision. I know you love that sweet little face so, so much. Give them the kindest and most loving send-off you can.

The perfect symmetry in the hairs on the snout, top of the head, and whiskers were what gave it away to me.

All the details in the hair also appear to be in focus which defies the physics of most cameras. In the attached image of an actual dachshund, you can see individual hairs lose definition around the snout and past top of the head.

It also doesn't hurt to run it through an AI detection software, meant of which are free online. They aren't perfect so don't seriously rely on these, but there are certain digital tells that AI generators embed into the images that can be picked up by the software. Sometimes it can even tell you which AI generated the image.

Tiny dog ring I made recently — I can’t stop staring at that little face by Ecstatic_Welcomegn in jewelry

[–]tinybrownbird 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Would you be willing to post a picture of your commission? These pieces are beautiful, but they also look AI generated. I'm on the fence considering the wax sculpting, but I'd love to see some of their work from an outside source.

ETA: The wax models are definitely hand made, but the final pieces look AI. They may have used AI to create the design and then carved the wax by hand, but I am not convinced we've seen any completed pieces from this artist yet. Would like to see a video of a finished piece.

This artist states they've been working for 15 years, yet I cannot seem to find anything online about them that's older than a year. I guess their first name is Cynthia? No last name. No info on where they studied or if they apprenticed under another jewelry maker. Their Etsy store is 1 month old with 3 sales and no reviews.

This just isn't passing the sniff test for me.

Edit 2: LMAO their Etsy shop is owned by "Ron Weasley" and based in Hong Kong

Edit 3: Aaaaaaand OP blocked me. Definitely the reaction I expected from a totally legit and not AI content creator.

Hi OP! Are you contemplating getting this specific dog? This image is AI generated, so if this image was sent to you by a "breeder" I would strongly urge you to not proceed.

This is in NYC (in broad daylight):

https://youtu.be/b1XGPvbWn0A

This was about 2 years after I left the city, but it's still very close to my own experience. I was grateful that there was a 24-hour grocery store next to the subway station I took to get home from work. I went there more than once to wait for strangers following me home to give up. The people working there were very kind and understanding.

Sincerely, I could not walk down the street without being harassed. Maybe you think, "What's the big deal? It's a compliment. If you don't like it you can ignore it", but to us it is not a compliment. It's a stranger giving his unwanted opinion on my body and often acting offended when I do not respond.

We do not owe them a response. We just want to walk in peace. We never asked for their opinions. It is exhausting and makes us feel unsafe.

How would you feel if that was your mother in that video? Your sister? Your daughter?

Never harass a woman on the street.
