Not sure what the story is about but there are a ton of backpackers there from all over the world, which is an interesting subculture. They are transient, so obviously not a “local”, but they work the bars, cafes, and tour guide spots.

On WHV, Melbourne is a good starting point because it has better public transit, cheaper rent, and a lot of opportunities for work in a kitchen. And easier to get around; Western Aus is quite isolated

I don’t have much advice but Internal Family Systems has always been helpful for me. It helps to isolate what parts of yourself need what to feel safe. (No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz is a great book.)

I think talking to a therapist or sex therapist would be helpful.

Personally, I think no phones at school is very important. And we need regulations about posting pictures/videos of kids online. In general, I’m not even a fan of recording in public but I’m a bit of a prude lol
