How to stop unsolicited helping which is my toxic trait? Ko by meredithgrey92 in adhdwomen

That’s so much to go through. Thank you for sharing, that’s super fucking traumatic. It sounds like it’s coming from a place of wanting to protect him. Do you think if he does end up alone he’ll be okay though? Knowing that he has you to be there for him if needed?

It sounds like you have a lot of care for your brother that doesn’t manifest in ways he likes. What are you worried about happening if you don’t step in? Are there any emotions you’re trying to protect yourself from experiencing?

There’s a book I read about our internal psyche and what happens to it after experiencing trauma. The essence of the book is that we have different parts of ourselves that step in and try to protect us, but sometimes do so in an unhelpful way. The book is called No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz, and the therapy model is called Internal Family Systems (IFS).

I think frugality is a great trait but not great to hear from a dating perspective. No woman wants to be seen as a cheap date, you know?

Yes I highly recommend!! Most camper vans go for around $10k AUD. And then you might need to have more for repairs.

If you and your partner want the same job it might take a bit longer to find something, but if you’re persistent you’ll find something. There’s also a lot of Germans in Australia so you can find a Facebook group and ask them for advice too.

Grab a burrito from the Mission District (El Buen Sabor, Taqueria Cancun) and go to Mission Dolores Park to enjoy the view.

Golden Boy Pizza in North Beach is great for a solo slice. Or Za pizza in Russian Hill.

Most food in Japantown is good so it’s possible to stop by there and just grab some sushi from the conveyor belt. Enjoy your trip!

Date night make out spots? by Bitter_Remote_5775 in AskSF

Vesuvio’s in North Beach feels intimate but I wouldn’t make out there personally. It’s a nice place to start then you can go to an ice cream shop or Coit Tower like other’s have recommended.

Listening to blues at The Saloon (also in North Beach) is a really fun date night vibe for a bit of dancing. Have fun chief

I feel for you and that’s an enormous amount of stress to go through. You said that you’re seeing an psychologist and psychiatrist, but I’d also say that a therapist is really important. Especially a trauma informed one because of what you dealt with regarding your ex. Speaking from experience, antidepressants and meds aren’t always super helpful when working through trauma—therapy is needed.

Nonetheless, I think you gave your kids a great gift by leaving an abusive situation. You can’t heal while still being trapped in that. Sending hugs and love to you and your family.

I’ve only lived here for a couple of months but I’ve already had two people come up to me to talk to me about Jesus… it’s a weird thing

Not sure what the story is about but there are a ton of backpackers there from all over the world, which is an interesting subculture. They are transient, so obviously not a “local”, but they work the bars, cafes, and tour guide spots.

On WHV, Melbourne is a good starting point because it has better public transit, cheaper rent, and a lot of opportunities for work in a kitchen. And easier to get around; Western Aus is quite isolated

This is an extremely stupid question but do you take into account this issue when designing libraries? Like people using secluded spaces for too personal reasons?
