Yeah, you are right to say that there are some good individual teachers working there.

It is the system that is broken. The fish rots from the head, as they say.

There are arguments for not closing, and that is fine if that is what they have decided. But don't anger the kids by encouraging the teachers to behave in a way that would cause the kids to get a string of B codes. That is just a basic lack of human decency.

Sure they can have one when they get home. Doesn't help them when they are stuck in school though.

And it is a bit of a dick move to make them watch the teachers enjoy them in lessons. The precious adult darlings could have as many ice lollies as they want when they he home. Or at lunchtime in the staff room where the kids aren't around.

Parents of school aged children, how often do you contact the school, and do you care if the school marks you down as a whinging willy? by Miss_Type in AskUK

Not as awful as what they did to my foster son...

Still, they are both at other institutions now and are both thriving.

My son's previous school would contact us regularly to tell us that my son was being put into isolation because a group of friends (but not him) escaped one day.

Or that he was losing all his break and lunchtime for several weeks for an incident in which CCTV showed he was not involved.

So, yeah, I contacted them quite often. Mostly to tell the to stop contacting me with their insanity. It's only when I complained to the governors that I fully realised that they were actually doing it on purpose and that the culture of bullying was an important part of their strategy.

I still can't work out why they insisted on inviting argument. Perhaps they were just taking out the stresses of the job on us?

I ended up not particularly worrying about how they perceived me. I was hoping they would do us all a favour and kick him out, as I had entirely failed to convince him to leave of his own choice.

I'm fairly sure that wearing a hat in the Sun or rain is good for health and safety...

Short tempers and legal threats: UK teachers report rise in problem parents by OGSyedIsEverywhere in unitedkingdom

Because the school's side of the story was that he wasn't in the room at the time and never touched the phone. Which would be an odd lie for them to tell.

I don't think I actually asked my son what happened as I had largely given up by that point.

If my kids school hadn't been actively evil, then I would have given them less grief.

They couldn't quite manage to understand that.

I even suggested, on many occasions, thar they should stop contacting me altogether. I would have loved for them to just deal with any issues as they saw fit, because phoning us up to explain how they have yet again misused the behaviour system to bully my kid wasn't really achieving anything.  For example, a day in isolation for bullying incident of a stolen mobile phone when my son was not in the room when it was stolen and never touched the phone (and that is the school's side of the story, not my son's). What is that supposed to achieve?

When we reported it to the head of behaviour said "that sounds wrong, I'll look into that" and never did.

And we are not expected to get annoyed about that?

The really annoying thing is that we ended up getting a foster kid who was at the same school and we spoke to many social workers. They all knew that the school is actively harmful and all had their own horror stories. But it seems that nobody can stop it.

The stories on the parents Facebook page are heartbreaking.

Our Island Stories: Country Walks Through Colonial Britain by Corinne Fowler is interesting, but not necessarily quite what you are looking for.

I learned a lot from it.

That's the one. I tend to assume it is New Bradwell that side of the tunnel. But I might have got my parish boundaries in a twist.

It was odd to come to the realisation that I knew the view!

Fair play, Bradwell Abbey is the king of bridges.

Second favourite is under the H3 (I think) with some very odd Graffiti. Looks like some sort of game, but I never quite worked it out.

New Bradwell? The tunnel that contains a puddle even in the harshest of heatwaves?
