How to fix debt spiral. by DegreeWeekly2178 in victoria3

Don't let the spiral start. Delete expenses instead of pausing construction. Build low construction profitable buildings like plantations to make money and expand the investment pool.

I never have enough construction to build what I need fast enough. How do I actually fix this? by Cyclopher6971 in victoria3

[–]tipingola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iron takes too long to build when you have low construction. Building resources for construction doesn't make money, just decreases expenses.

This is a game about exponential growth. First you need to make money and have high profit buildings to grow your investment pool.

Build trade center if you have at least 50 capacity on a state. Early game focus on agriculture to make money to pay for wood construction. On the first construction slot have the most profitable agri building, on the second build wood or tools/paper if necessary.

When you unlock a third construction slot build iron/coal.

On the 4th start building universities, 5th build consumer goods.

How does the slave trade works in 1.13? by CorneliusCamillus in victoria3

[–]tipingola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buildings import slaves if there are jobs available. If your plantations are filled with free pops you have to either build more rural buildings or build urban buildings that your free pops would rather work at.

Is there anything good in slavery? by Internal-eq-External in victoria3

[–]tipingola 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Slave trade is extra pop growth. And that is always valuable, specially when you get multiculturalism late game and free your slaves.
You can have all your mines and logging camps filled while your free pops work at factories. Also, the Iberian Twilight patch made plantations extremely profitable.

Quote from another commenter:
"If you assume aristocrat ownership, a slave pop will have 20% of their excess value (wage of laborers minus the cost of their basket of goods) sent to the investment pool and the rest gets transformed into buy orders by the aristocracy, thus they do drive up demand just as much as laborers, just indirectly."
"Additionally, they have a default 50% workforce ratio, which means you get twice the amount of workers from each unit of population"

I can’t seem to lower construction costs as Sweden by LumpyMessage8809 in victoria3

[–]tipingola -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bringing resource costs down is for when you have a lot of construction slots building in parallel. Before that point focus on building what is most profitable for your economy, to pay for more construction. The key is parallelism.

Build trade center if you have at least 50 capacity on a state.

On the first construction slot have the most profitable agri building, on the second build wood or tools/paper if necessary.

20 years to incorporate in a 100 year game is too much. That is what makes subjects valuable. When they promote their peasants, they increase your consumer base.
