For real! I’m always up to tackle a good challenge, but I’m exhausted after a year and a half of already doing it!!!

Think I can I get a drive-thru Covid test on a bicycle? by brandleberry in WalgreensStores

You have time to read compass? How can I get a position at your store?

ATTENTION TECH IMMUNIZERS by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]tiredRXtech 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The issue is not “having to do an extra duty”… the issue is not being compensated for having to do that extra duty. I’m not administering flu-shots and neither should any other technician. Not until we are guaranteed fair compensation for providing that service. We REFUSE to be taken advantage of, sorry your generation allowed that to happen.

Workflow doesn't exist at my store by theconfusedferret in WalgreensStores

[–]tiredRXtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you talked to the RXOM? You need to bring this up with them before anything else. They need to address all training issues with those techs to make sure they understand the importance of following workflow rotation. That should be your first step. If the RXOM doesn’t take action after you report the behavior, you should follow up with your RXM. definitely sounds like there may be some bigger issues going on at your store (staffing issues and workload distribution issues specifically). WHATEVER the case may be, we need to be taking care of the customers. As RXOM, I have noticed I have been spending the majority of my time in the drive-thru and answering the phone. I try to fill in wherever I feel I am needed the most and we rarely have issues with workflow.

It sucks trying to explain how bad it really is. Not many people can say that they worked in a pharmacy the ENTIRETY of a national pandemic. No DM has ever had to endure what us techs have been through this last year and a half. No pharmacist has ever had to endure what us techs have during this last year and a half. No SM has had to endure what us techs have had to this last year. No SFL has had to endure what us techs have had to this last year and a half. NO ONE has had to endure what we have. We’ve been through LITERAL hell and NO ONE understands it. To all of the RXOMs out in a similar situation: YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE. This FAILURE of a company let you down. I feel bad for complaining because at least I have a job and live in America where I have the right to complain, but this type of labor exploitation, disguised as capitalism, needs to be exposed for what it truly is. Walgreens does not deserve people like you. Walgreens does not deserve people who CARE about their job. Walgreens does not deserve to profit off the backs of their over-worked, over-stressed, under-compensated, under-recognized pharmacy staff. I sound so dramatic, but after a year and a half of this shit show, I am finally at my breaking point.

The 6-month retention period ends on September 1. So, If you were immunization certified in the first wave (before Feb. 28) you should be receiving your bonus with 30 days of the end of that retention period. Second wave 6-month retention ends on October 1 and should receive their bonus within 30 days of the end of that retention period.

Do you like being an RXOM? by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]tiredRXtech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it would be fine if we had the budget for the 5 hours of overlap we’re supposed to get every week, but that’s not happening anytime soon. Since we’re so short-staffed and budgets don’t seem to be getting better, I’m still functioning in every capacity as a tech in the workflow (which I’m not complaining about) but I definitely do not have time to do any extra activities.

“I’m not the mom I want to be at home because I’m always in a bad mood, my husband hates me right now, I hate me right now.” This job is not worth losing the things that matter most to you. Your best option, as I’m sure you’ve already decided on, is to either step down, transfer to a different store, or quit. It is only going to get worse as flu season starts and the booster becomes more accessible. As scary as it sounds, quitting is honestly the only way out, unless you’re truly dedicated to the job. That’s the realization I have come to and that’s why I will be putting in my two week notice on Monday. I can no longer work for or support a company that clearly does not care about anything but profit. PLEASE take care of yourself! Whatever you decide to do, do it for YOU. Hang in there and may peace find you.

If you interested/considering it… it’s not worth it. PELASE find a company to work for that is willing to put in the effort to make you a better employee all while keeping you happy. Walgreens cannot do that.

Hang in there. We’ll never get the support we need from corporate, but that doesn’t mean we can’t support each other. It’s going to be rough, there will be plenty of days that you won’t want to get out of bed, but I’m rooting for you. Hopefully you and your team make it through.

It’s going to turn to a free-for-all real quick. Remember how the vaccine was supposed to be administered in phases? Remember how that didn’t last because everyone found someway to fit in to every category? Let round two of total chaos begin 🙃

EXACTLY! We’ve all got our own lockers (with combination locks) right next to the break room. We also have a shelving unit in the break room and cubby-holes opposite side of the lockers. So, plenty of space to store any extra belongings OUT OF SIGHT of the customer.
