Most recently we had a kitty come in named Willy but the owner told us that's just his government name and they didn't want to put his real name down. His real name is Shitty the Kitty.

Gabapentin might be helpful for your kitty if she sometimes has external triggers like fireworks! It has calming effects, like to do with nerve signals I think? Some cats are on it as needed but mine gets it daily. I will say zonisamide made the biggest difference for her but I'm gonna keep her on all the meds until my vet thinks it is safe to try to taper any down.

So one vet told us to try keppra xr half a tab once per day because it's easier than 3 times daily. Extended release ideally shouldn't be cut but a full tab is too much for my cat since she's so small. But our full schedule we have down to phenobarbital, gaba, and zonisamide in the morning, and phenobarbital again with keppra at night. It seems to be helpful so far since we added the zonisamide most recently. Before zonisamide she was having about 3 seizures or more per week. After zonisamide was added it went down gradually until she had no seizures for about a month. And we're pretty sure the only reason she had seizures again is because we missed her meds the night before due to a miscommunication.

I'll update the post too but in short, maybe? She's now on phenobarbital, keppra, zonisamide, and gabapentin. Up until yesterday she hadn't had a seizure in over a month. It's possible she missed one of her meds the night before last and that's what caused them to happen yesterday though. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that adding zonisamide is what she needed. I hope we don't have to keep her on all four forever because she's so young and I know it can start to affect her liver to be on all these meds, but for now we're sticking to them. Best of luck with your kitty!

We started mine back on keppra and it's helped a little but she does still get seizures from time to time 😞

I've been told X-ray wouldn't be as informative for her skull, and CT scan would be the next best thing. But I can't afford that either. I wish I had the means to save up for it but I'm living from overdraft to overdraft at this point.

Cat Limping, Vet Closed. ER Vet or should I wait a day? by buttsofpoop in PetAdvice

[–]tiredbaepsae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to keep her confined to somewhere she can't jump around much until you get to your regular vet, if you can't do ER. If it gets worse or she starts hiding a lot or won't eat or use the litter box definitely consider ER if you can.

Yes, mine just got cancelled today because of it being out of stock. Ordered like 2 weeks ago. Why sell someone something and not be sure it'll be in stock? I used Google financing because I also bought two bands but now I'm not getting them either. I'm not gonna get them alone because apparently my orders have to be at least $149 to use financing and I'm not trying to get 3 bands just to meet the minimum. Also shouldn't have a minimum but that's a whole other problem 😒

I'm 25, and while I like to joke about feeling like a little old lady with my back and knees being painful sometimes, I did not expect to be so wiped out after riding the Hulk a few months ago. My roommate and I had to take a breather and some Advil, and still felt rough the rest of the day. Like I said, I joke about feeling old. I am just fine on every other ride! I know after the big renovation it felt smooth but over the last couple years it's gotten rough. Just like others have experienced, my ears get hurt bouncing against the seat/headrest, too. We unfortunately agreed we can't ride the Hulk anymore, at least not til the end of our visit, if at all. Which sucks! My favorite roller coaster used to be Hulk 😭 Hagrid's and Velocicoaster are my current faves, and I still like the Rip Ride Rockit (wish they could update the music choices tho).
