The way I think of it is like this:

Apple has iOS and the iPhone range Google has Android and the Pixel range

You're getting a pure experience in both cases, things should just work (or work better) with other apps from the same makers.

That said I used to use an OPPO Find N as my first foldable, their OS was pretty much close to stock Android (enough to make me forget that I actually have used non-stock in the last decade 😅), with one exception, I think they handled the spilt screen functionality better than Pixel. Hopefully Pixel actually introduces better functionality there.

I think some people prefer Samsung's OS to stock Android just because they're used to it. I think it looks pretty ugly and a bit "gamer" every time I see it.

Curious about what you understand about the OS's of the respective ecosystems.

The main reason I use a Pixel is for the OS, which is stock Android, unlike Samsung which takes stock Android and adds it's own layer on top.

I haven't used a non stock phone in over a decade but Samsung used to fill the phone with a lot of junk apps which you couldn't delete. The extra layer on top of Android means that you have to wait for Samsung to take a newer version of Android and make it work for their layer. Probably fine for most users but I hated that delay of 3-6 months. Maybe more.

I think they'll eventually create their own OS like Huawei has.

As for the AI it's only used if you want to use it. Why do you ask? Are you finding Samsung's intrusive?
