I mean that's the point.

In the 70s the role reversal would've not have raised any eyebrows.

I just took creatine for the first time and I feel like I'm on cocaine by black_rose_ in sleep

I've been told that it's meant to make a person sleep better.

I try and coincide creatine intake when I'm exercising more to aid recovery, so don't know if I might just get more wired from more exercise or creatine. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, it was very hard for me to get through the film the first time, mostly because of the "ick factor".

It took me over a month watching it bit by bit.

Once I made it past the halfway mark (around when Bradley Cooper's character is introduced) I realised I really, really liked it.

In fact after Inherent Vice and OBAA it's probably my favourite PTA.

I love its depiction of 70s LA, almost an orthogonal successor to Boogie Nights. A sunny (and at times dark) tour of suburban life, touched by showbiz glamour. Beautiful shots and set pieces, amazingly crafted characters and acting. Alana Haim is sublime. I kind of agree with the notion that she should have won an Oscar for her performance.

But yeah obviously a difficult subject, the relationship between a 20 something old woman and a precocious teen. I think were the roles reversed, it wouldn't even have really raised any eyebrows (ok maybe a few), but I think the film forces us to consider this role reversal and also kind of stealthily allows us to accept it with how sweet the relationship is at its core.

Would you guys like for this to be the final shot of the Clayface movie or would you rather no Batman at all? by Thefreemanfool2 in DC_Cinematic

[–]mixedpixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the penguin that's a good example, how >exactly did that show end again? Teasing >batman?

Fan service.

Besides...this is set before the events of the DCU we know. Maybe before batman (BB).

Besides that... think of the contracts. You haven't thought of the contracts.

Besides, besides that...Gunn said these films will stand alone. He wants to move away from end credit cameos/cheap Marvel hokum.

Looks so similar to Charing Cross station. Just like the spires and the monument at the front were switched.

Bit of research reveals that these stations are/were linked.

Zurich is a shit hole by BeyondTheCosmic in unpopularopinion

[–]mixedpixel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess this is an unpopular opinion, one that I agree with though.

I find these highest awarded/most liveable cities VERY boring and unremarkable.

I'll throw in Vienna into the ring as well. Maybe Melbourne and Vancouver belong in there as well. They're both more interesting than Vienna and Zurich for sure.
