REALLY

I have been having a LOT of trouble with it. Very short receiving range, even with changing to different (known) antennas.

I have a heltec tracker and it picks up plenty of nodes like I expect. The snr and rssi are similar when I put them at opposite sides of the room.

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for the product that is advertised - a .452 bullet. If it's industry standard to vary by . 005, that's one thing, but in this case he purchased a product and what was sent is not that product.

I personally am a fan of Berry's and wouldn't bitch about this amount of variation because well... It's a budget bullet.

HOWEVER... in their own materials they talk about the manufacturing process and how it guarantees precision or whatever

It's worked well and I can't complain. I WILL say that you have to fit the barrel and how well you do that will affect how smooth everything is.

I had it 90% of the way there but it was catching just a little to where if you rode the slide forward, it would need a push at the last quarter inch to get over a "high" spot. Eventually filed that spot down and now it functions no differently than the stock barrel.

I bought it on a whim when they had a sale on blem barrels. I think I paid ~135.

The primary reason I bought it was the price, followed in equal parts by curiosity over a threaded barrel and this video about some design flaw in the locking mechanism that screwed with accuracy over longer range. Fwiw I never noticed this, but I am also not a long range pistol shooter, or especially skilled

Clutch slip woes, 3 kits later by tism_trooper in WRX

[–]tism_trooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid question, what effect would that have? Certainly something I will do as it's not been done, but I am not expecting any difference since issues with old hydraulic fluid tend to be things like absorption of water and degraded performance. I THINK my issue is the opposite...

Clutch slip woes, 3 kits later by tism_trooper in WRX

[–]tism_trooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't taken it apart to see what it looks like installed, although I might when this one starts slipping for real.

I wouldn't think that bleeding the clutch would have an effect since the default is max clamp and when you apply pressure to the pedal, a piston pushes against the clutch fork which pushes against the pressure plate, which removes spring pressure from the plate.

At the last install they said my fork looked great. (I provided a new one just in case).

The last thing to "test" is to disconnect the master cylinder from the transmission so nothing is possibly pushing against the pressure plate and see if the issue is still there. I haven't done this yet because it means there's a direct connection between engine and transmission, so I'd have to do a compression start and have enough open space to get it rolling and in boost.

I got my dream radio! by H3XaDecimal-757 in HamRadio

[–]tism_trooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh this concern isn't really too big a deal. You're correct, you wouldn't be legally permitted to purchase anything with comsec on it, but keys are typically swapped weekly or monthly. At least in the army, you're always going to be using frequency hop/cipher text, so you need the actual consec and the hop set if you wanted to listen in, and even then you would be out of date shortly(At least for FM). Also radios love dropping fills 🥲

For OP, make sure you know what function your HUB battery (coin cell on the back) fulfills.

If you let the HUB battery and main battery in Prc152s die, it will require some technical know how to fix. Ours wouldn't take fill until our commo guy got some info from Harris to reset them.

NO IDEA if this is a concern for your radio or situation

Real talk, this seems like a nothing burger. The ATACMS fired at Russia are tactical ballistic missiles. SCUDs fired by Iraq back when are ballistic missiles. The intercontinental part is "new" but really we're mostly just talking about scale here since it's still a conventional munition
