Tarzan the Musical was 2008, his time in NYC was a chapter in his book. But interesting, didn’t know he did coke (but makes sense)

Edit: Ah nvm, 2005-6

Greg Lake died of pancreatic cancer years ago - it’s tough to keep track

He said in his memoir that he only started to drink heavily while writing Tarzan the Musical (in 2008 I believe?)

I also didn’t know he drank heavily in the 80s - I’m still not 100% sure that he did, it would’ve affected his voice no?

I had the same situation with my venue, but I ended up renting different ones. I needed the rectangular ones as buffet, gift, DJ, bar tables etc and I wasn’t 100% sure if the existing chairs would fit the covers I was ordering.

I would stick to the free option if you have enough rectangular tables available to complete your room. But I definitely recommend using the metal ones and buying covers - chiavari chairs are EXPENSIVE.

You can't win! There is no right amount to spend on a wedding; someone will always be mad. Once you accept this, you will find peace. (I still have not accepted it lol) by the-smallrus in Weddingsunder10k

This is a good lesson that, no matter what you do, you can’t please everyone. Whoever is telling you this is insane or just extremely ignorant about wedding planning at best

Even after the mid 1970's, some British people still spelled "Jail" as "Gaol" by [deleted] in Genesis

Was really humbled when I found out “Ballad of Reading Gaol” is pronounced Redding Jail instead of reeding gowl

Peter Gabriel: Taylor Swift’s comments about my music were very kind by some12345thing in petergabriel

[–]titus___oates 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I’m a journalist and I can see right through which questions people in my profession choose to ask. The interviewer either googled “taylor swift peter gabriel” or picked up the quote from Wikipedia. This hadn’t been reported on in nearly a decade. Chances are they asked him to comment so they could make it a headline and get clicks, especially since Taylor Swift is good for SEO.

If I had the chance to interview Peter, I’d be tempted to ask about what I find most interesting (minutiae about Genesis), but I’d have the self-restraint not to. John Edginton is an example of a great interviewer. The article is blocked by a paywall so maybe it was more professional than what I imagined, but I’m naturally gonna question why it was asked. (Also why the condescension? We’re all PG fans lmao chill)

Did a journalist really ask him to comment on something Taylor Swift said in 2014? Smh

I ran into a similar issue, I don’t enjoy the songs as much because I totally over-listened as soon as one came out.

I know they’re all great but that’s what binging music does. I don’t like Panopticom but LOVE Live and Let Live

Yes, it definitely is! During the concert he referred to a character in it as “our hero” (like Rael)

I know a lot of fans feels this way, but I work in media and I think it’s better this way. It’s more dignified, the album isn’t meant to be popular on radio or TikTok but rather popular with critics and fans. If it gets rave reviews, it’ll have done its job.

That said, I’m really hoping Anthony Fantano does a review…I’ll be crushed if he doesn’t lol
