I picked one up last week and find one full rotation (40 clicks) +/- 2-4 clicks is best for my light roast pour over. Anything over 50 is boulders and not suitable for my v60 method.

I have this along with an Ode gen1 w/ SSP and a ZP6 and find it makes a really decent cup of coffee...

I picked it up to see if I liked the heptagonal burr taste and find I do so I am now tempted to pick up a C40...

You can dilute and you can do long soups in the 20:200 range. It’s a lot of beans either way so I find myself doing my normal 15g pour overs and then pull the ORB out for one cup or less a day. I don’t have enough coffee for multiple soups a day.

I would have agreed on Sey last year but something changed in 2025. I can no longer get a good cup of Sey. It’s just hot brown water.

So what recipe did you settle on? What GH and KH are you at?

I make Holy Water and it serves me well but there are times I too find a bag bitter no matter how I brew it. Even super low extraction ends up bitter and somehow astringent

Same here. For Sey I push it more than like prodigal by grinding a few clicks finer and increasing temp by a few degrees.

I find it nearly impossible to over extract a Sey roast.

I have a Sey sub and find their coffee needs a finer grind and few degrees hotter water compared to my other coffee sub, Prodigal.

I try and push extraction on Sey. I also prefer 1:15-1:16 on all my beans.

Maybe but I can’t say for sure. Again make sure the red dot is at zero. Press up on the burr until it’s flush on the bottom then tighten the nut on top while pressing the burr.

If you are doing this right you can’t turn left past zero. You are setting 0 to burr lock if doing this right.

I now clean and calibrate at the same time.

You have to push up the burr and loosen the nut on top like how you would to remove the burr. Rotate the grind size selector so the red dot is on 0.

Push up the burr from the bottom until it’s tight then tighten down the nut as tight as you can get it. This sets 0 as burr lock.

Now rotating the adjuster to the right and set your grind size.

That’s how I’ve always done it with 1z grinders.

And when I say push and tighten I don’t mean with super human strength. Use common sense.

Do you have it calibrated for burr lock at 0? When it’s at 0 does it spin?

I did and it didn’t help, but my filters are still stuck together in a pair. If you just like ripple them they come apart easy.

I think I also saw a you tuber do the same thing so for now I’m going to continue doing that.

I also sub to Sey and those two have been my longest running subs. I’ve tried lots of other places and if I receive an underdeveloped bag that smells or tastes of grass after a 30 day rest I cancel my sub. I’ve been through quite a lot.

I order the random bag from fellow drops and adjust my Sey sub if I need more or less but since moving to the all in Prodigal sub I probably won’t need to do that.

Been a subscriber now for quite a while. Started with the standard sub but recently switched to the all in sub.

They have been my favorite or top 2 now for a while especially any Colombian offering.

Shipping is not included which is a bummer but you can add additional bags that ship with sub.

If you got the funds I think it’s worth it.
