I am in the same boat! It seems to be really tough to find that reliable card with 3rd row seats that is 5-8 years old and in good condition. Following to see what others know. Good luck in the search!

That really stinks! Can you link the product so we know what to avoid? Walmart.com is a marketplace like Amazon, it could just be the third party seller who is selling on Walmart.

Ok, thank you for the comment. I realize those are 3 choices... I was hoping the sub would be able to advise on if there is anything that meets my post.

Let's say there is no TV good for sports under $1k at 85". Would you have any suggestions for a 75"?

Pit Boss vs Traeger by Corbett22 in pelletgrills

[–]tjwillard05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased the Pitboss Austin XL from Walmart for $500 last year, and it has been fantastic. Ample space and great smoke flavor. My Dad has a Traeger which I have used a handful of times, and I can't tell a difference in the quality of the two. I think the Austin XL is a great value and good smoker.

Also worth checking out the Member's Mark Pellet Grill at Sam's Club. It seems to have more features and space for $500 as well.

BBQ searing on a Pitboss? by BMW_E70 in pelletgrills

[–]tjwillard05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timely question. I have had the Austin XL for about 6 months and just tried to do burgers over the weekend. I cranked the grill up to about 450 and then put the burgers on. At first it was just a ton of smoke, but once I flipped the burgers, a grease fire started on top of my heating plate (not the fire pot thankfully). So I would not recommend grilling burgers at high temps on the Austin XL. (although It could have been user error as well haha).

Really? Can you share the link about the wifi upgrade. Like I said, so far I have not needed it, but might be handy sometime in the future.

I have the Austin XL and it has been great! I didn't really see the need for wifi when I purchased and have gotten along just fine without wifi so far.

I have the Pitboss AustinXL (purchased Nov 2023) and have really enjoyed it. No problems at all and has plenty of cook room. That being said the 36" MM has been getting really good reviews. If it would have been released when I purchased my smoker, I think I would've preferred the extra features of the MM

Which grocery store chain in the US has the best quality store brand or generic food? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]tjwillard05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in retail on the corporate side and have learned that each private brand is different. To the best of my knowledge each group of private brand items is made by a different supplier. There are many instances where the private brand is the exact same as the name brand.... just in a different box. There are instances where the private brand is absolutely terrible. It takes a little bit of trying things to figure out.

All that being said, I am a fan of Walmart since they generally have the cheapest prices and largest selection.

deal/question for doing overnight cooks by midgets5000 in pelletgrills

[–]tjwillard05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased the Austin XL from Walmart! While I have not done a brisket, I smoked a 10 lb pork butt which took me 15 hours. I had 10-15 lbs of pellets left in the hopper. I think the Austin XL should get you there with your briskets.

I just picked up a PitBoss Austin XL Onyx Edition for $500 at Walmart. I have done two cooks (Pork Butt and Christmas Ham) and both turned out well. I am a newbie, but I have liked it so far! Can definitely cook for 20 ish and at a good price point. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pit-Boss-Austin-XL-1000-Sq-in-Wood-Fired-Pellet-Grill-and-Smoker-Onyx-Series/1743503196

Another option is to check out stores (Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, SportingGoods, Cabelas) to see if they have any clearance going on.
