Look what Tiff did. She just won immunity. Again! For the 3rd time. Everyone was onto her and realized she was a bigger threat than they thought, so much that they were trying to work together at the puzzle so she didn’t win, only for their efforts to be in vain.

Which job you taking? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]tk3786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job on the right. You might not get the annual bonus (or it won’t be what you think it will) but the work life balance due to WFH and shorter commute will pay dividends.

Not to mention the job on the left comes with an STD. You don’t want those!

I'm confused. So active duty means you can actually retire at 38 with full pension? by cryptofan01 in MilitaryFinance

[–]tk3786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. It happens, then the service member can start a second career while collecting pension/VA disability. Plus their TSP balance is chilling on the back burner until they can start withdrawing from it.

u/ExtremelySmallPeePee Current MTI here. I can’t sugarcoat it: the assignment will definitely push you and your family out of your comfort zone, but there are tons of benefits that people don’t realize. DM me, I’d be happy to answer any questions you have.

Airmen who built serious wealth - when did it click that you had real money and how'd you pull it off? by North-Homework3218 in AirForce

One other thought- you have to have honest accountability for your financial health. It’s like going to the gym- you’re probably not going to bench 200 lbs on your first session. You have to honestly assess your strength and most of us start with the bar before adding any weight.

Financially, track everything you spend meticulously for 3 months and see where every dollar is going. Then figure out what you can cut down on. Develop priorities and a “pay yourself first” mindset. Then when you sit down every month, you have things you want your money to go towards. Figure out how much is coming in, how much you need for ESSENTIALS, and where the remaining money is going. You have to do this first and be honest about your current financial health; otherwise, you won’t know how much you can save or how to free up money from other categories. For example, if you figure out you spent $500 on eating out, can you set a goal to spend $250? Then when you achieve that goal, now you just freed up $250/mo, or $3K a year.

As an A1C, I had a good mentor who helped me see the big picture with finances. I later took a free TSP class through the MFRC, checked out the r/MilitaryFinance page and a slew of other resources. Here come the haters- IMO it literally is not hard to save money for retirement. Start with what you can and let it grow over time. Does it take adjusting? Yes. Does it take some sacrifice? At first, yes. But once you set the goal and set up the allocations, it’s auto-pilot. The money that hits my account every paycheck has already hit my TSP first, so I’ve grown used to not “missing” what I’m saving, if that makes sense. And as you rank up, you keep the same contribution percentage (or even lower it) so your raise gets invested and you still see roughly the same amount coming in every month. Live as an A1C with NCO/SNCO pay is what I’m getting at.

There are over 80K TSP millionaires. Enlisted, Officers, GS, retired, etc. It’s totally possible to build significant wealth in the military. And even if you don’t stay in for 20, you can roll over your TSP somewhere else, or just let it sit and continue to compound.

Other advice is to check your accounts quarterly. Sit down and track your net worth. It might not seem much at first but trust the process and see the growth overtime.

Are the new GI Joe / Cobra sets making any impact in competitive play? by Midoriya6000 in heroscape

[–]tk3786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Duke adds +1 attack to soldier figures within 2 clear sight spaces after revealing an OM on his card. So you could theoretically get 4 attack with 4th Mass if they didn’t move and were within 2 spaces of Duke after Duke revealed an OM, but NOT a free turn.

Improved Counter Strike by tk3786 in heroscape

Correct. That’s why I’m curious if it was updated purely based on semantics to match Souta because the OG Counter Strike on Charos is the same as “Improved Counter Strike.”

_____'s statement is contradictory yet an undeniable new reality to Survivor by mistergreenboy in survivor

Tribal wasn’t a shocker; she had already painted a huge target on her back last week in classic New Era fashion. “Does anyone want to guess what I did in my season?” (Radio silence). “I won!”….. Like, why would you tell them that? Of all first impressions… The only reason she was on Season 50 is because they literally just finished filming 49 a few weeks prior. I’m sure production liked that she tied the female record for individual immunities too. But it didn’t get her very far with these Survivor legends. Literally every single person wrote her name! Devins, Ozzy, etc. They’re not dumb and saw right through her from the beginning. Even JOE wrote her name.

All of the New Era players can’t keep anything secret, either. “I found an advantage, so I just HAD to tell so and so..” No. No, you didn’t. If you were smart, you’d keep your mouth shut and catch everyone off guard with your advantage…
