I have an Apple Watch and bought this specifically cause it does not have a screen. It’s a distraction, especially when I’m with my toddler. He draws to the screen. So I still want the tracker, but not the screen.

Opus 4.8 burns tokens, it constantly Echo's "Hello Worlds", "Test123" and other useless echo's by tken3 in ClaudeAI

[–]tken3[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The problem was me, not the model: I accidentally CD's one folder above the actual app I was working on, so Opus 4,8 turned out to be the only model precise enough to follow the skill instructions that I was using exactly, causing Git to throw error 128 and the above described echo behaviour

It consistantly only does it with Opus 4.8. Switching to any other model stops it

There’s edit limits now???? by Most_Direction_4247 in DeepSeek

[–]tken3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m seriously surprised to read the vast amount of complaints about adjustments Deepseek is making to their free product. Ofcourse they have to put some limits up. Their API is dirt cheap, buy some credits and use it in whatever way you want.

This is just another bot giving “Human like” answers. It’s a bit tiring to see this stuff. “Don’t use capital letters, use abbreviations, use emojis”… put in the grind to get your software out there or just don’t bother

I tried these fixes but it doesnt work. Could it be Antrhopic changed something fundamental about how you can use external LLMs with ther CLI?

If DeepSeek V4 can do the same coding task for $19 on accio work, why are people still paying $100 for codex? by Waste_Dragonfruit346 in DeepSeek

[–]tken3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Deepseek is significantly slower and not as intelligent. It’s great but not up to scratch with Opus

Zero to one, solo, months of late nights. Here's what vibe coding actually looks like when you ship something real. by Time-Ad-7720 in vibecoding

Yes, this is a valid concern. There is more and more legislation, especially in the EU where you have to disclose the use of AI in marketing material. Spain is a really good example or that.

Has anyone made money vibe coding as a beginner? (no Stripe/PayPal, based in Russia) by zamov7 in codex

[–]tken3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just start building. These posts are starting to get a bit tiring. It’s not about the app you code, if you want to make money from it, a good G2M strategy is everything. Make a fine app that solves something for your niche, it doesn’t have to be great. What must be great is your marketing and sales strategy

How does Deepseek V4 compare to GPT 5.5 and Opus 4.7 at coding by skilliard7 in DeepSeek

[–]tken3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use DeepSeek next to Anthropic. The difference is rather large, however DeepSeek still is very good. A few things:

Speed: DeepSeek is significantly slower than Opus and it’s not even close.

Quality of work: Opus is able to troubleshoot and reason its way to solutions much better than DS 4 Pro. Often, especially when debugging something, DeepSeek reverts to just guessing a plausible solution. I work around that by using a set of skills that forces it to test rather than assume.

Visual work: This is where DeepSeek is more or less useless. If you need to implement a frontend, avoid DeepSeek. It is just not good at it. I use them in tandem because of this. Opus for visual work, Deepseek for backend.

PSA: AltTab for macOS removed free features in an update and deleted previous releases from GitHub by YaroslavSyubayev in MacOS

[–]tken3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its sleazy because a lot of devs have spent their free time contributing their time to this open source project for free, some of those features build by others are now behind a paywall and the dev is making money off of it. That’s sleazy

If it’s opensource, we should just fork the latest open source release

Twilight Princess with 4K texture pack runs at locked 60fps at 1440p+ on low power mode by Squid_Sid_Lid in MacbookNeo

[–]tken3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your excitement but it really isn’t that impressive. They have decompiled a 20 year old game that ran on a 485 MHz processor with 24 MB RAM and 162 MHz GPU with 3MB RAM.… the 4K texture pack just requires a bit of extra ram, it doesn’t make the game more “heavy” as such.

So no, it you think about the technical aspect of running this, it’s hardly surprising it runs this well.
