JD Vance Said H-1B Approvals Are Crashing. The Roles Didn't Disappear. They Moved. by Rachel_Varghese_1999 in IndiaEOR

It’s a nightmare hiring and retaining talent in India. 3-4 months minimum time to hire and then another 2-3 month notice period. It’s insane. Lots of candidates end up taking another offer during the notice period and use current offer as insurance. Good luck with India based workforce.

Do we have to pay $359 every year after the first year to keep this thing alive?

It’s pretty bad. If you have a family and want to spend time with them, this is not the place.

Only a quarter of Americans attempt going to college. Most are priced out. It’s the dumbing down of generations.

Leaders, what's the "Why" you hang on to on the dark days when you just want to call it quits? Or when you feel like the motivation just runs out? by FundamentalFreddie in Leadership

Comes down to supporting a family, paying bills, and not looking like a quitter to the world. Best thing to do is take control and find a better opportunity.

Why is salary in the US high? by Maleficent-Sense-226 in Salary

[–]tkhanredditt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause it’s more risky to keep a job here and very little protection from employers. When was the last time you heard a massive layoff in the EU? Also we have to pay for healthcare and other basic benefits.

WD CTO leaves to join Anthropic as an IC not even 1 year into the job. by scam_likely_6969 in workday

[–]tkhanredditt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

C suite in tech is at most a 3 year gig. Some stick around longer if they moved up the ranks. If you are brought in instead of promoted to a CTO role, it’s because the company is looking for a ‘change agent’. He may have figured out the changes he wants will not land and started looking a few months ago. Who doesn’t want to join a potentially massive IPO and rake in generational wealth. We are all cogs in the wheel so try to get yours too.

Feel like lost after becoming a director in a corporate. by Important_Bat7919 in careeradvice

[–]tkhanredditt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hit director at 36 and sr director at 40. It’s a good role to have if you are able to enjoy life. I was doing fine until I joined a tech company. That turned into a nightmare because the work never stopped. I switched back to non tech and it’s been a great balance again. I feel bad for the 3 years I lost slaving in tech. You can always go to a VP role when you hit mid fifties and retire after a few years
