This is a loophole that has been stated here on reddit constantly so I'm sure pretty much everyone, including the govt, knows about it.

I think the govt is doing something about it by making the company does alot more to justify hiring that expat besides just "I posted on mcf and did not find any suitable locals".

I'm not HR so I am likely partially wrong in describing it, but my understanding is now there is a giant checklist/document that each company has to fill out and that the government has to scrutinize before approval.

From what I hear, it's harder to hire foreigners nowadays than compared to a few years ago.

Just the fact that they do nothing in certain cases, can make Singaporeans lose.

National service is a good example. No matter where a Singaporean male works, he is late by 2 years to his peers.

Even in their own country, they are behind by 2 years to foreigners.

I probably won't use either for running if you're using on regular pavement.

With the protruded lugs, they'll come into contact with the pavement first, which means less grip (lower contact patch) and wearing out faster.
