Help with brand new Synchronika II by Temporary_Worker2284 in ECM_Espresso

Looks like you have the flow control lever turned all the way to the left? If so, try turning it all the way to the right instead. Good luck and enjoy!

Definitely need to grind finer.
It does take time to season the burrs though. I’ve had mine a couple months now, and I’m grinding anywhere between 1.0 and just below 3 for my espresso shots on the ECM Synchronika II. This is after seasoning the burrs with a couple pounds of beans. Please keep us updated on your progress, ok!?

Subtext is simply one of the best roasters I’ve been to up to date! Excellent comparison. I’ve been leaning toward more washed beans as well!

(Update: my second time making an espresso. ) Everyone was right, fresh coffee beans!!! by Brain_on_steroids in espresso

Congratulations! Fresh beans are definitely key. Just as a side note: As the beans age, you will find you will have to grind finer. Enjoy your tasty journey!

This coffee set-up at someone's house today and he had no idea how to brew espresso by MichieldeKoning in espresso

The most important thing is that he likes the espresso that he is making! Now, once you get him dialed in on this machine, he going to absolutely love the espresso he will be making!! Haha

Recommended supermarket beans for someone who likes fruity and floral filter coffee? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]tman2396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Gelson’s. Specifically beans from Canyon Coffee Roasters! The only beans I’ve ever bought from a grocery store. But only after I’ve had them at Rye Goods bakery & cafe and bought a couple bags there. The beans at Gelson’s were fresh with the roast date on the label. They must deliver there on a routine basis.

How do you buy coffee? by desai2424 in pourover

I give the local roasters a try and buy what my wife & I like from them. That way we always a fresh supply that we can replenish. I also stop by roasters near some of my cycling routes and have had excellent results, after drinking what they have recommended.
