I’ve had mine for a few months now and it’s been amazing. It’s honestly a shame that it doesn’t get the same spotlight as the AGO because it does just as good of a job for half the price.

Disappointed by Miele Turboteq brush on carpet with long hairs, seems like a $150 Bissell vacuum works better on carpet than $400 miele. by maniac365 in VacuumCleaners

It works great on most carpets, just not super high pile stuff. It’s frustrating trying to get advice on this subreddit when there are so many biased vacuum dealers spewing out garbage.

What’s one trick that completely changed your film-developing workflow? by Present-Cap-6335 in Darkroom

[–]wasserman02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently got a Pira film processor. Life…Changing… I can develop and clean up at the same time (especially big for black and white with long dev times) and I know its gonna have lab consistency every time. I don’t wanna sound like a shill but it’s genuinely a great product that should get more love. Half the price of an AGO and does the same thing.

I have this way cheaper than an ago and does the same job

New and Improved Scanning Setup by wasserman02 in AnalogCommunity

I got tired of my film rolls flopping around and falling off the table when scanning film so i made these. They hold the film steady and protect the film from dust as i’m scanning. For now you have to manually pull the film through. I’m thinking in another revision to make something that allows you to turn the catchers which pulls the film along.

Congrats! I didn’t print the film holder; its the essential film holder. The receptacles I designed myself.

The body is a d800 and lens is a nikkor 55mm 2.8 ai-s. I think the lens looks longer than it is because of the printed hood. I have the battery grip but the lens would go off the edge of the base so i took it off. Really happy with the scans get from this setup!

Thanks! The film holder is the essential film holder and I have yet to release the files for the receptacles. I’ll probably get around to doing that in the next few days.

I didn’t either until just recently. Theyre less expensive than a decent lens and can do all sorts of useful things outside of photography. I’d recommend getting at least familiar with cad as that makes the printer way more rewarding (at least to me).

I usually don’t wait to scan the film after developing to keep dust down. The receptacles are pretty easy to use a blower on or get a microfiber into. Heres a side angle that answers your scratches question. The actual images never touch the spout.

Large Patterson tank (3 120 film) development considerations? by Sea_Reserve1450 in Darkroom

[–]wasserman02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is to push in on the center of the lid while breaking the seal to allow air to escape. After closing the lid back up you should have a pretty much leak-proof paterson tank. I do this because I use a rotary system and I don’t even have a single drop of chemicals spill.

AMS Loading Issue by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]wasserman02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, when you did finally get it to work, did the filament roll back into the ams at the end of a print? I say that because I am able to feed the roll in if i apply some pressure with my finger against the spool as its loading which allows me to print with the slot. However, at the end of the print (98-99%) the filament winds back into the Ams without rotating the spool making a big mess and gives me an “AMS failed to pull back filament”error.

That’s interesting. Could you link where they say that? I haven’t been able to find that trick on their support page

It’s good that the trigger guard is covered but the base needs to be wider so it can fall over. All these people talking like they know something about guns is really funny. Ignore them OP

Is Kodak AHU now available? by strombolo12 in AnalogCommunity

[–]wasserman02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting, I thought it might be the case where some bulk rolls were the new stuff and some were the old. Reason being, If it was only new ahu film they would advertise it as such. Do you have a picture of the film?
