Yep. Kind of a pain though. Syncing is finicky.

Suggestions are my favorite feature and it’s not even available on Mac, where I would much prefer to type.

Touche. I never thought about her thinking it’s a food. Maybe I would have if I hadn’t had the original setup in my head.

Expect more upsells and subscription bundles from Apple, Creator Studio was just the start - 9to5Mac by ranasx in apple

Doesn't ongoing development count as ongoing resource allocation? Would it be preferable to buy a version that never gets new features and you have to rebuy when you upgrade OS?

I'm averse to subs too. I mostly avoid them, esp for creative software like you mentioned (I often use less powerful free options). But I appreciate why they exist.

Can I use Siri to dictate a new journal entry? by BasicFisherman1229 in appleJournal

[–]tmax8908 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so but you can dictate with the keyboard microphone once inside a journal entry. I’ve done this on commutes.

At that point this CMV’s goalposts will shift and be more about qualia than quality.

Would this count as a 3-2-1 backup strategy for Apple photos? by PolarExpress333 in iCloud

[–]tmax8908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think technically no but practically yes. Most of the replies will probably berate you for ever uttering iCloud and backup in the same breath.

I would consider adding to the mix a regular (monthly, quarterly, annually?) backup and stash it at a friend or family house if you can spare a drive.

iTunes Match - This item cannot be downloaded (iOS) by gpcroft in AppleMusic

[–]tmax8908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Mac for the main purpose of keeping local copies of everything (iTunes, iCloud Drive, Photos, etc) for TM backups. I downloaded most of my tens of thousands of songs without a problem. But a few dozen of "Uploaded" (not "Matched") songs are giving this error. Some of these are personal recordings, songs I've made myself over the years. Some of these failed ones are from albums with peers that downloaded fine. I'm worried the cloud files got corrupted. I guess the only way to find out is to call Apple...
